You cannot accuse Rafa of relegating Newcastle. They were as good as relegated before he took over as they were one of 3 teams fighting for the 1 place above the relegation zone.

Newcastle were unbeaten in their last 6 games, winning 3 and drawing 3 (12 points).

In his 10 games, he had 4 of the top 5 finishers in the league and 3 x 6 pointers.

Martinez didn't have the best of records prior to the Everton job. Granted he won the FA Cup but he also got wigan relegated. Rafa has impressive cv.

In the past....yes, but the last two jobs?

Hmmmm. Glad he is looking to stay at Newcastle personally.

Sam Allardyce would be a good choice. He's never been relegated.

There are many others who share that honour..
