Looks like this boy will be our first signing of the summer, and to be fair it seems like he really wants to come here.

Yes, he's obviously angling for a move with this interview, but Claudio's openly said he's interested anyway.
He appears to be genuinely excited about the prospect of playing here, but more importantly he fits the bill as far as we're concerned in that he's everything that has got us where we are today.
He's slogged it in the lower leagues for a number of years and has worked his way to the top based on hard work and skill. Has a good goalscoring record and bags of pace by the look of it.
Will be perfect competition for Vardy and shouldn't cost the earth coming from Serie B.
Personally I'll be very happy if we continue to pursue signings in this vain - no big time Charlies please.

I get the feeling they've hiked the price, we've started looking elsewhere and he's trying to force a move.
All fun and games.

Apparently Napoli are now the favourites to sign Lapadula, I know we were linked with him (and about 50 others) but I don't really know anything about him to comment on his suitability for you or us

£20m for a 26 year old from Serie B? No thanks. Trust Walsh's judgement on these but there are better strikers available at a similar price.

Yeah I remember saying something similar when we signed Jamie Vardy: "one million pound for a non-league player?"
£20m does sound like an awful lot of money and Kramaric is evidence that it doesn't always pay off, but I don't know enough about this bloke to make any definitive statements that better are available for the same price.
I have an incline that we will sign another striker in the next window and break our highest transfer fee record in the process.

I think we'll sign another striker too, and for a not-inconsiderable sum. But I can't see us going overboard with transfers overall - probably 3 or 4 in key positions, notably forward and centre back.

And do you think that would be enough to cope with playing the extra games Dunge? I'm not sure it would.
Unless we assume that some of the peripheral players will be making more of a contribution next season: Kramaric, Benalouane, Inler, Chilwell, Gray, King and James etc.
If that's the case I think the depth problem might be in quality rather than quantity. You could probably add a midfielder to that list.

I still hold out hope for Inler; he's talked about the Premier League being a challenge that he wants to meet so I'm happy to see him given another chance, perhaps along with James although I have different concerns about him. Also don't forget about Amartey - I have high hopes for him.
King will get games and I'll be happy with that; Chilwell and Gray should start seeing more action and benefit from the experience. Benalouane and Kramaric will both probably move on though, hence why we need to strengthen in those positions - particularly at centre back where we'd be very short if Wasilewski goes as expected as well (and unfortunately I no longer believe that Moore will make the grade). Also we still don't have a decent backup/competition for Schmeichel. So those are the main positions I think we need to address in order to get 2 decent players for each position:
Schmeichel/????
Simpson/Amartey (RDL? )
Morgan/????
Huth/????
Fuchs/Chilwell
Mahrez/Albrighton
Drinkwater/King
Kanté/(Inler/James)
Schlupp/Gray
Okazaki/Ulloa
Vardy/????
I wouldn't say no to signings beyond this but we would definitely be looking for improvements rather than squad players.

Mersey will be all over this now you've quoted the three letters of R D L.
What about Konchesky? Isn't he technically still a Leicester player? .

The words "Konchesky" and "technically" don't look right in the same line without the word "substandard".
It would also appear that Mersey is dozing. Although I thought he had a psychic connection to any mention of RDL.

Did someone say RDL?
Pay Middlesborough to take him off our hands. Amusingly, in this market we could probably command a decent wedge for him!
At least he's fast bless him.
