Mayor Joe Anderson reckons we've got the cash to build a new stadium. If true I'll be ecstatic. I'd love it to be built on the north docks, but that would mean we'd have to buy the land and I can't see us having the funds. What do my fellow Evertonians think?

Going to be tough for your lot to find a new stadium. The land is there but transport links are crap. My choice would be the old Marconi site or do us all a favour and flatten Kensington.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing wrong with Kenny, plus with the new royal and regeneration around the site, with new school and railway station, added to the work on edge Lane it should hopefully improve the area.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a downer on Kenny from when I was a kid, got battered when I was tripping my nuts off walking home through there once.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately there are horrible people everywhere
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Especially when you're on bad acid
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I imagine most places would seem bad with the help of a bad trip.

I think Lukaku will go,and to be honest I'm not assed as long as we get the full amount to spend. Stones may stay and get back to his best with the right manager, the same with Barkley and Mirallas.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lakkakus' work rate isn't always the best, but we would probably have been relegated without his goals this season. Just hope the new man can find a goal scorer to replace him.

I guess it depends on the new guy, if he wants to keep Rom and can get him to commit one more year with us?
His work rate isn't the best, but he gets goals. Would happily see Mirallas go from my earlier list, he is a one game in seven player at best....should have taken the money from West Ham last time they came looking at him.

Im not wumming (for once), but i think Joe may be shooting his mouth a little with this.
Hard to imagine that a new stadium, in any part of liverpool, would not meet some sort of objection to planning as it would drastically impact the area (in some cases for the better, but for transport infrastructure and residents, not so much)
Certainly, if the dock site was to be used, there would need to a huge shake up of the links around there as traffic is awful at the best of times around the dock roads.
Surely if the club are looking for a new site, they should look to stanley park under some sort of agreement to return the goodison site to parkland or some sort of site for the community!?

Joe has backtracked a lot in recent months.
It would take years to redevelop Goodison/buy up property around GP. He wanted the club to be the driver for WHP and a community development. He has been critical of the club in the past and now is looking to gain favour with one of the rich owners

you wouldnt be saying that Joe is only interested because there might be some personal gain, are you???
i mean, its not like joe would use council money to sue a school for money he didnt actually deserve!!

I think Joe wants the commonwealth games to be held in Liverpool so he's doing his upmost to get it,and if that means cutting through some red tape to quicken up the process that's cool with me.

Then if that's the case he needs someone to take an athletics stadium and convert it for football or have a dual use stadium.
If he hopes to use Everton as the partner au hope the club tells him to stick it

I've read reports that one of the main reasons why Sheik Mansour bought City rather than Everton was due to the ground they inherited from the games, are you telling me you wouldn't swap places? I'm not an architect, but I'm sure a football stadium could be purposely built to accommodate athletics without losing the atmosphere. When the Olympic stadium was built its primary purpose was athletics,West Ham will just have to make the best of what they've got.

Swap places with City?
Don't think that's an option or has much to do with Joe now trying to find a tenant for a stadium not set out for football. COMS was designed to be altered.....but not as dual purpose, how long will we need to wait for this?
