Juve want £38m for Morata

Is he worth it and is he good enough to turn us into title challengers?

I havent seen enough of him to really judge but at £38m he is certainlyt cheaper than I think we need to spend to get a top quality striker. we should be loking at someone valued at £50m+ in todays market imo. I know taking the view of money = quality is not always true, but with the silly money being spent in football these daysanything below £50m will not be the sort of level we need if we really want to challenge for the title unless we get a bit lucky with the player.

Is Xhaka and Morata enough? Probably not.

Arsenal really should have signed Higuain 2 years ago.

Thats the main reason why we haven't won the league for over a decade now. David Dein did the buying before 2007. Its not a surprise that our most successful period was when he was the director of football.

Don’t always agree with Jenius99 but the failure to sign a CF undeniably cost us the league this season.

Of the forward’s mentioned I don’t think we had/have a chance of signing any of them – but there seemed to be no plan B.

Aubameyang will most likely go to Madrid (has made no secret of his desire to go there, and Zidane is believed to be an admirer).

Unlike others – I don’t place myself in a camp. In that I realise it’s time for AW to move on. And probably should have after the last FA Cup win. But that’s not to say absolutely everything he ever does, or has done is wrong.

The ridiculous AKB/WOB acronyms are best left alone.

As already mentioned on here, Real Madrid hold a buyback clause on him. Can't remember what the agreed price is, but Morata doesn't want to go back. Real Madrid would be looking to bring him back and then sell him on as they've done in the past (Negredo), so you'd be at Madrid's mercy

However, if a club holds a buyback clause, is there an agreed wage for the player. Could Morata theoretically turn round and reject any contract offer made by Real Madrid to avoid going back?

Wouldn't say he was worth that kind of fee anyway. Juve got Dybala for less and he outperformed him significantly. Morata works hard but doesn't get the goals you're looking for.

The thing is Madrid can't really sign Aubameyang unless they get rid of Benzema/Jese or both.

Benzema is still a very good player if you ignore his criminal antics. Zidane isn't going to sell Jese. He is a youth product and is loved more than Morata was with the fans.

In the past Madrid did some extremely dodgy dealings to sell their players to Italian clubs but the Spanish tax authorities are clamping down on that behaviour.

So just because Madrid have put out their usual feelers doesn't mean the deal is going to happen. Top premier league clubs now have greater buying power. And if does Spanish clubs have to let some of their players go.

IMO he will not give the kind of impact that Chelsea had when they first signed Diego Costa. Therefore I think that we will not achieve our goals with Morata as the front man.
