Wow those stats are no joke. What do you think, how would he fit in ?
Good option ?

Only by Castor, although he probably underrates him as much as comments like "one of the best midfielders in the history of the sport. " overrates him

I've seen plenty of posters talk about Ozil as someone easily improved on. To me that is seriously barmy considering his age, quality and experience.

Only from posters who play football manager or get fixated on stats.
They don't understand for example that Mkhitaryan plays in a much more dynamic team which suits his style. He wouldn't have the same impact in our current set up.
For example, can you really compare him to Ozil when he was at Madrid?

If we lost Ozil, it wouldn't have a massive impact on our team.
He isn't integral to our team

For all of Ozil smoothness on the ball, i feel he gives up too easily in the challenge. He is a luxury player.
I will take Mkhitaryan if we get £40million for the German.

When the team is playing well and hammering the likes of Villa, Ozil looks great.
However, when the heat is on he is hardly the player that we can turn to.

You might want to watch our games and Stoke and Manchester City again. Our ball retention in the final third was embarrassing. That us what Özil offers us, that no one else in the squad can.

You have failed to note how many times Ozil looses the ball or outmuscled of it.

All this doesn't really address our fundamental problem. We don't have a striker worthy of the name. Have we seen the best of Ozil? No. But what does he have in front of him? We have gone through, Arshavin, Gervinho, Podolski, Walcott, Oxlade, alexis, welbeck, Campbell, iwobi and on occasion, Ramsey and Wilshere wide. None have had any consistency. And we have blamed them when in reality we have a terrible striker.
I don' think we can fairly judge any attacking midfield player until we have a decent striker finishing moves. or we will be criticizing any new player soon enough if he has to put up with Giroud.

Fans are are too fixated with the whole Ozil and having a quick striker.
Forgot the assists for a moment and look at his general play in Mf.
Yep he finds space but how often does he lose the ball, how often does he get brushed of the ball, how often do you see him go full throttle into a tackle and how often do you see him playing the other man when he could be shooting for goal himself.
