Alvaro Morata, the skilled, quick, double-footed striker is coming to terms witht he fact that his time at Juventus is over. And he is also aware that there is no space for him at the Bernabeu. At 23, he has accomplished quite a lot for his age, most notably two Serie A and Coppa Italia titles. Couple that with the fact that he has played (and scored) in a champions league final game (none of our strikers by the way has ever done that), and we have a very valuable player on our hands.
Apparently, he is very unsettled at the moment, not quite knowing where he would be playing next season, but it is fair to say that all indications point to Arsenal being his destination. But what does such a player bring into the team?
1) Height: Morata standing at 6'2" brings the sort of height we need in the front line, so replacing Giroud with the talented striker means we do not lose that part of our game.
2) Big Game Player: He has earned it, after knocking down Madrid from the CL, winning the Coppa Italia for Juventus and also scoring "decisive goals against Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City and Inter Milan."
3) Age: At 23, he is still willing to learn, which makes it easier for him to integrate into the team without causing an upset to the balance and our style of play.
4) Prolific: Though he hasn't had the chance to prove this regularly due to being played out wide and inconsistently in his preferred position, one can have a quick glance at his numbers in all Spanish divisions, including the senior team.
5) Skill: Morata is a very skilled player, and draws a lot of fouls from opponents especially in dangerous areas. His hold up play and dribbling abilities also help take the pressure off the team when under the cosh.
Should we buy him? Absolutely.
How much? Not more than 40M

So, Oxtail, if Juventus (or Real more likely) said he is ours for £45m you would say no - despite painting a picture of a striker you seem to think is 'the answer'?
Don't really get why people put fee limits on players they think is the answer - you aren't in control of the accounts, don't concern yourself with the fees.

O.P this is one your worst article ever. Were you inbibing weird substances at the time?
"Prolific" Do you know the meaning of the word?????
He has scored 11 goals in 52 appearances for Real Madrid and 27 goals in 93 appearances for Juventus.
Do we need someone as prolific as him ? The answer is a resounding NO. We need someone who is going to get us 30 goals a season . Not 12.

I agree with Sammy. We need an actual prolific striker and certainly not another one who scores infrequently and can play out wide. We all know wenger will play him wide and stick with giroud as CF. actually what is the point anyway? We could sign messi and Ronaldo and still won't win much because the old man wenger will still be the manager.
