Hello
Anyone given up smoking ?, i gave up in February and i have never been so miserable in my life. I thought it may get easier after a couple of months, but if anything im struggling and ive become even more miserable.
The Facts.....
Ive put close to 2 stone on in weight.. mostly around the gut, which ive never done in my life.
my sexx drive has decreased....... as a side note why on earth is the word sexx banned? pathetic..
ive stopped training.. i was into weights and fitness prior...
ive become an all round unsociable miserable git to be honest.
I have to add i smoked about £5.00 worth of weed every night on top of just amber leaf, only in the evenings though.
Anyway my point is does it get any easier because im starting to think id rather die happy at 65 than live to 80 and be unhappy.?
Giving up smoking anyone?

Sizzle
I still love the smell of ciggie smoke. I myself cannot stand ex smokers who make a fuss about people that smoke. Pubs are so fecking boring without smokers. I think non smokers that moan about fresh air, should be the ones that should go outside.

I use an e-cig, since I started with it about 8 months ago I haven't had 1 cigarette. I have zero desire for a cigarette. Yes I'm still inhaling nicotine, but nicotine alone is far less harmful than the thousands of nasty chemicals in conventional cigarettes. Also you can control the amount of nicotine you smoke. I started at 20mg/ml, now I'm at 6mg/ml.

You're not inhaling nicotine alone. You're also inhaling chemicals and some who have studied the chemicals say they are worse.

OP,
You say you've never been so miserable.... Give us some more facts:
- Got any kids?
- Partner/wife?
- How's work?
It's not all bad, is it?

Yes Ledley I have two kids and a partner and I love my job.
I'm probably being a drama queen to be honest, but I'm starting to think it's more to do with what 8bit said about it' being more to do with giving up the weed.

As someone said earlier it sounds like you may be struggling with the effects of kicking the weed habit.
I stopped smoking 2 years ago, both cigs and weed, and felt much the same way. I was discussing it with family friend who is a retired GP, and he said my problems were more likely down to the weed withdrawal.
He advised a bit of counselling. I ignored that and just went back on the green, mainly through a vaporiser. Within a week the gloom had lifted and my libido returned in a big way.
I'm not saying you should do the same, as it is horses for courses with cannabis, but it certainly helped me

Muswell
You will be even more miserable, when you find out you don`t actually save any money by quitting, just spend it on something else, and your health will probably not improve by spending the savings on giant burgers instead.

The word sexx is banned cause Google made us clean up the site, linked to a page about lezbeen three sum and said that's just an example but there may be other pages. So we had to go OTT and van 80,000 comments and 10,000 articles. As well as releasing swear filter version convent.

There you have it then. Most of your life is good, just the side effects of giving up weed.
The weight gain is more due to the cigs, but if you're in the gym you've got less time to eat by default, meaning you'll start shifting the weight and won't have as much time to pile it back on again.
Nothing will be solved unless you strive to make a change.
