Tbf, you've had 3 weeks or so to put a bid in if he was the striker you'd decided on. Why wait until a couple of days before he was due to go to France on international duty for up to a month?

Poor from Arsenal really, and a distraction that both the player and England could have done without.

the only thing that distracts footballers is birds and coke......he won't be distracted one bit

I agree we should pull the plug. But not sign Morata he is very average at best.

We don't want to end up with him rejecting us after the Euros. We need to get on in and get somebody else.

No, don't pull the plug. He's in communication with us and that's all that matters.

Apparently Walcott is staying as well according to the worst source in football...

I'm totally naffed off with this guy because of his delayed response and he aint even ours yet ! He needs to realise that the proposed contract can be withdrawn at anytime and there are other fish in the ocean . Both parties are taking substantial risks by the delayed signing of the contract before the Euros. I say this for the following reasons:

Vardy might pick up an injury, be atrocious during the tournament, or there could be some other player who has an extraordinarily positive tournament which would make it Arsenal's prerogative to back out of the deal or at least reconsider .

On the other hand, Vardy could have a superb tournament resulting in him being a more valuable asset and as a consequence he could regret signing before the tournament as he could have demanded more money.

Personally, I hope the first option happens (i.e. he doesn't sign before the tournament and we get to see what a one trick pony he is so we can pull out thereby dodging the bullet). Arsene this transfer window wants to be proactive and get his business done quickly. There are also a lot of other managers trying to get their business done so it stands to reason that if we wait around too long possible targets may get snapped up.

Hear, hear. I was just about to post a similar sentiment. If he can't make up his mind, he should stay at Leicester as he obviously does not consider himself brave enough to play for Arsenal. If he cannot see the potential of playing for Arsenal, sees himself as a big fish in a smaller pond, fine. The delay is disrespecting both Arsenal and Leicester. There are better players out there. Wenger thought he was getting a bargain, lets not kid ourselves. He will just have to fork out more money for a younger player who values playing for Arsenal and relishes the opportunity. Vardy was a stop gap option in the way Van Persie was for Ferguson. No great loss imo except on the money side. That's Wenger's bad luck. Not our's as fans.

FFS, you lot still don't get it do you?

Wenger has targeted a player that

a> You the fans don't want
and
b> He's unlikely to get.

Vardy will wait until the Euros are over.

Leicester will offer him 100k pw and tell him that playing in the CL for Leicester (who are seeded so won't meet any of the big teams in their group stages) gives him as much chance of getting out of the group stages as playing for Arsenal.

Also, staying at Leicester, he will be a big fish in a little pond and will get more playing time.

While this is all going on, Wenger will sign a new 2 year extension.

Then Vardy will decide to stay at Leicester and Wenger will tell you lot that he tried to get a striker but was unsuccessful and you will have to make do with what you have as there are players out injured who will come back like new signings.

And the scariest thing about this post is you all know it will happen.
