If this deal goes through, I will truly be upset. This is the guy we should be signing. Whilst Vardy pissses us about other possible targets are being snapped up and the alternatives that are left will either be expensive or are inexperienced. As you already have heard Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ibrahimovic are practically gone and Morata (who is simply not good enough) Chelsea are interested in. If the Vardy deal goes south, Higuian will simply be able to name his price if we show interest . The rational part of me realises that Wenger cannot be fully blamed for this particular situation as he has tried to be proactive during this transfer window. However the irrational part of me wants to order for him a taxi
Vincent Janssen to Spurs for £12m

Being a bit of a spoilt brat here but I honestly do not understand why we can not just chuck a 40-50m bid at Napoli for Higuain. Especially after spending 35 on Xhaka. He would clearly improve us. It is clearly a position we need first team quality and not a squad player. It's pathetic.

If we were thinking about that, I would probably prefer Ibra on a free transfer then chuck him £300k a week for wages to make sure we get him. He will be good for a season.

He's just banged in 36 league goals, assuming Napoli didn't hold out for the entire reported buyout clause of around €90m, I don't think £40m or £50m would suffice.

To be fair...
he's had one good season (this season) where he's scored 36 league goals.
The season before he scored 18, and 17 before that.
I know we need another striker, but maybe Wenger wants a stop gap like Vardy for a year or two instead of chucking £50-60m at a 1 season 28 year old big game bottler....................

😂 😂 😂 ONE good season?!
Last 8 seasons he has scored
38
29
24
18
26
13 (only 25 appearances mostly from bench)
29
24
Aside from his injury hit season, he has outscored Jamie Vardy at professional level every season prior to last. Also a big game bottler 😂😂😂 he has 26 goals in 57 appearances for Argentina, including the winner vs Belgium. He scored the goal which effectively won Real Madrid one of their few league titles in the last decade and did the same a year later under less dramatic circumstances. He has a 1 in 2 goals to game ratio for Napoli in Europe. He scored twice to beat Roma in the semi final of Copa Italia which they were losing 3-2 at the time, he scored twice vs Juve in the super cup, he scored twice against us when they beat us 2-0. He's scored goals against the like of Chile, Spain, Germany for his country.
Only a complete and utter spaaaastic would play down Higuain's ability as a player. No doubt when we looked set to sign him 3 years ago, you probably thought he was the best striker in the world because papa Arsene wanted him. Not he's big game bottler who has only ever had one good season. Unbelievable 😂

He said before the end of last season that he wants £600k a week. Dont know what he will get at Man U but it will be far more than £300k.
Maybe we should have signed him on a pay per play deal of £600k a week if he starts, £300k as a sub.
