The potential signing of Janssen from the Dutch league by the mighty spurs has sparked some debate on the strength of the Dutch league. The guy is banging goals in for fun but how significant is this ? For every Suarez there is an alfonso Alves
Just wondered how you would rank say the top 6 European leagues and what are the strengths of each ?
For example the English league probably has the highest intensity and fittest players , Spain probably the most technical and bundesliga the most all round.
What leagues do you prefer your club scouts overseas players from and why?

La Liga - Most cheating and playacting
Bundesliga - Worst defending
Serie A - Most Boring
PL - Most money

The trouble is people deal in absolutes too much.
A player comes in from a foreign league, has one average season and then leaves, and that's it, they flopped in England and weren't good enough or didn't suit the league.
Maybe they just joined the wrong club? Maybe they just didn't like the manager? Maybe they just weren't happy off the pitch?
One bad season and its 'he's rubbish', even if they have 10 good seasons somewhere else.
I think Spain is the strongest and best league but it's technical dominance over the rest is overstated, as is the physical dominance of our league.
The leagues are a lot more similar now than they used to be. How could they not be with all the managers and players coming from all over the world?

Falls outside the scope of the question, but I'd say the Argentine league is the best place for value-for-money.
It's a fiercely competitive, win-at-all costs for players to cut their teeth in before stepping up to the big leagues.
Anywhere you look in Europe, whether the top leagues or the backwaters of European footy, and even in the richer Asian leagues, teams are awash with Argentinian players successfully plying their trade.
The number of quality players the Argentinian league produces in comparison to the country's population (though they also furnish themselves with promising youngsters from neighbouring countries) is actually quite stunning.

The Dutch league is terrible, defending is non existent.
Watch all of Depays goals from the season before last they might aswell not of had a defence or a GK, also Altidore is one of the worst strikers i've seen in the PL and ge bossed it there!!

The argentine teams have a good mix of technical players and hard man players like the Terry's\Vidic of this world in their league. You have only to watch games of Estudiantes, Racing Club, Rosario and NOB to see this.
They have the right mix unlike those Brazilians who are moving much more to physical players and if your are not six foot tall you are not picked.

Can't speak for other clubs but for Chelsea the French market has served us very well in the millennium.
Gallas, Essien, Drogba, Malouda, Azpi, Zouma, Cech have all come from the French league, Infact I can't recall a flop from the French division, even Papy is doing well on loan in Breman.
