Vardy- staying or going?

What's everyone think? Seems like we are going to have to wait until after the Euros to find out.

My guess is he's already made his decision and that he will be going to Arsenal.

Don't worry True - Vardy would leave with my thanks and I would applaud him for what he has done at our club and being part of the greatest season ever.

I'm just with BS in that I have zero respect for the way he has gone about this.

In terms of what club we want to be, I think our owners have got this spot on - we're and aspiring club. We are building something very special, and in the right way. Our owners and building slowly and sustainably - I don't want us to do anything to put that at risk.

Last season was a freak - we should continue to build with the mentality of "let's try to get in to the champions league" rather than I invest so we "need to be in the champions league".

I think Ranieri and our owners have got this spot on and I trust them to continue to build in the right way. Hungry players with potential, rather than bully big boll***ks!

Mersey - While I agree with the general attitude of nobody being bigger than the club, I think it's worth a bit extra effort to keep Vardy here because I suspect Mahrez may decide his own future on this as well. (Not necessarily because he and Vardy are best buds or anything but because he'd be worried about missing the boat.)

Dunge - Vardy wouldn't have negotiated any of the clauses are even requested then I wouldn't have thought - BUT he would have been aware of the key ones.

His agent didn't tout him around this summer without his knowledge and he acts on instruction to do so. What I would agree with is that the idea to do this and the clause itself has come from the agent but Vardy has a big part to play.

I think he'll stay.

LCFC will offer him 100Kpw on a 2 year deal and he'll accept.

He knows that LCFC are in pot 1 of the CL so are unlikely to meet any of the big boys of Europe in the group stages which means that they have as much chance as Arsenal of getting to the knockout stages.

He also knows that at LCFC he is a big fish whereas at arsenal he will be a tiddler and wouldn't get much game time.

That's my take on it and it tells me he will stay.

I can see Vardy and his agent discussing this either over a desk or on the phone and his agent saying something like: "I'll get you the best deal possible, you just sit there, say nothing and look pretty." I doubt Vardy himself has the capability of outmanoeuvring a football club so whatever's going on is probably agents' games.
Vardy's allowing it to happen of course.

"...say nothing and look pretty."

Fecking hell, asking a bit much isn't it?

Vardy hasn't negotiated any of this but that doesn't mean he's oblivious to a release clause being in the deal. He won't just sign anything without some key elements of what the agent has managed to achieve being explained

When the summer came his agent will have been in his ear asking permission to utilise the release clause to go and alert clubs to his availability

An agent has to act on instruction after all but I firmly believe the agent has instigated and engineered the whole thing.

On both counts, in Vardy's case.

I'm one of the few Arsenal fans that believes he will join us and want him to sign for us.

And now lots of reports that Wenger wants Kante and Liverpool want Vardy! It's going to be a long summer 😁
