Looks like I was right.... SHOCK!
Vardy is set to snub Arsenal due to doubts over his starting place in the team.
Some Arsenal fans are blasting his mentality but why? He has every right to have doubts given Wenger's loyalty to Giroud goes beyond logic, the man's willing to jeopardise our season just to involve Giroud and there'd be nothing Vardy could do even if he scored a hat-trick a game he'd eventually be flanked for Giroud if not dropped.
Like I said Wenger's loyalty to the donkey has cost us dearly and it's even costing us targets.
Hopefully the news is true so we can look at better players and ones that might just actually force Giroud out the XI for good being they're twice the players.
We've learnt that Aubamayang is available, chance to get involved in that. We know Higuain is in fine form, Sturridge is still an option. We have to try and secure someone and Wenger has to accept this player will eliminate Giroud based on reputation initially before form comes in to play.
Time to move on.

Leicester absolutely have enough money to offer £100 a week.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately there is more to this then just offering Vardy more money to stay. It would mean they alter their wage structure and every player would demand a renegotiation. In fact Leicester have known about this clause for a while they could have just paid him at any time to take it out of the contract.

You love a massive leap don't you.
Leicester are minted. He's already reportedly on £80k.

Leicester’s Thai owners are worth circa £2b and with CL, PL, and commercial incomes etc, offering Vardy 100k a week is not going to be any trouble.
I’d imagine given their meteoric success, many Leicester's players will be renewing their contracts this summer too (assuming Vardy stays).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know that £2bn seems a lot of money. And it is. But its the total of all their assets. In comparison Arsenal are rumoured to be worth £1.5Bn on our own. We are not talking about Abu Dhabi Sheikhs, Russian Oligarchs or American Franchise Billionaires.
Now a club worth $2Bn has a significant wage budget. £200m+ in our last statement. This is because of our stadium and net income. Now with all the best wishes to Leicester they just cannot compete with the top 4 on wages. It will be hard enough just to keep the players that are not wanted by top 4. And that is why I believe Renieri and Leicester are not seriously trying. Winning the league does mean bonuses etc. As does the new TV deal. But that is very different to a higher wage structure.

The issue is IAWT, that Leicester negotiated a contract with Vardy with this clause. Now they have had a while to renegotiate this clause out. Why wait till we make an offer. Now Vardy has the upper hand and Leicester can't afford to compete with the sort of wages we are offering him for the reason I stated above (the rest of the structure). And if you look at Reinier's response, it was not of someone unhappy like Rodgers and Liverpool with Suarez.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The contract was renegotiated back in February. I'd assume this is when the clause was instaured as no one would have pay £20M for him back last season.
There would have been no reason for them to sit down again before the end of the season (now). If he does stay and get what he wants, I guess the clause will either be removed or put higher up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In which it would reported that Leicester are fighting to keep Vardy and renogtiating his contract. Not that Leicester have agreed and Vardy is having second thoughts.

This actually could be the reason.
French papers were reporting yesterday that Zlatan was waiting for his lotalty bonuses before signing for another club.
I'm not too sure how this work so this is pure speculation but could Vardy be waiting on something similar?

yes. That could be true. But I don't see in that case why all reporters are talking of his decision to stay or not. I think the whole world is aware Ibra is leaving.

We've brought 5 forwards in the past 4 years and none have displaced Giroud
says something about Giroud, doesnt it?
----
Welbeck had pretty much displaced him until he was injured? It says a lot more about the quality of Wenger's recent striker signings than it doesn't about Giroud's quality.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, he hasnt. True that Welbeck started some games but that doesnt mean that he is prefered to Giroud the whole season.

Wenger has already completed our transfers. There will be no new signings unless it’s replacing a current player… Gibbs/Debauchery/Lolcott
The only situation that would make the club go for Mkhitaryan or Higuain is if Ozil/Sanchez are leaving.
Furthermore, all this Vardy bolloxx has conveniently deflected attention from Gazidis recent quotes….
“The reason that Arsene is here is because he believes that he can deliver success. If either of us didn’t believe that we would not be constrained by nostalgia or longing; we would have to make a change.
“Arsene would understand and support that. But it’s just not how either side feels. We feel we are on a good path.”
Wenger is here for the foreseeable future.
Thank you for your interest in our affairs.
