Time for speculating. Many outsiders will find this incredible but Villa DO have a lot of sellable assets who are apparently in demand. It's speculated that Jordan Amavi, Jordan Veretout, Carlos Satchel, Carles Gil, Idrissa Gueye Jordan Ayew, Ciaran Clark, Gary Gardner and Jack Grealish are all wanted and could all be off.
Three points to think about really;
1 - That lot leaving would rather rip apart our midfield.
2 - How much would that lot bring in? I don't think I'm being unrealistic by saying £60m.
3 - I don't think I would want to see ANY of these go. So are we actually THAT bad?
Midfield wipeout but what can we make?

Gil and Satchel wouldn't be too disappointed.
However Amavi Clark Gueye and Ayew I would like to keep but guess will go.
Veretout I think was potentially best of lot but will go, and he didnt do a lot.
Grealish is a villa boy down to him if he wants to put it in and get us back up, Gardner needs manager behind him for once.
Paid 40+ for those id guess bar Clark Gardner and Grealish. Most will be on decent length contracts so 60 min.

Satchel? Predictive text at work.
But I would agree that 'Sanchez' hasn't done it for Villa. Gil though is definitely a quality footballer who perhaps just needs the right manager and right environment. Interesting few weeks ahead.

For a start it's all speculation. Somebody needs a story, so they pick on the more obvious names and invent one around those.
Now some clubs may be interested in them, but would they pay a realistic price? I think £60m is too low, way too low. £100m+ ? For a start, we don't need to sell, and I don't see why we would unless the offer is to our advantage ie we can buy a better player (for us) with the money. Then there's the new TV deal in the PL, which will automatically raise the price of players; there's no rule which says that as we're not in the PL we have to accept less. If we had massive debts and had to sell it might be different, but we don't. We are investing to get back into the PL, not selling to pay off debt.
Of that list maybe Sanchez is the most obvious to sell if we get a good price; he's getting older and his value will plummet. Think he can do a job for us but maybe we can find somebody else who is a better fit. Gil likewise; he has talent, but will it stay on the bench a lot? Veretout in spite of a poor season (not his fault really) definitely has potential, so he might be a star next season, or might not.
What I hope is the di Matteo works out those players who are definitely must keep, and keeps them, and of the others from above keeps those who he can't replace with somebody who suits him better. May not be too difficult. Clubs might come in for Ayew and Gana, say, but are they thinking £5m or so rather than the £15m minimum they are worth (in the current climate)?

Agree mcp we dont want players who are not going to want to play, but we mustn't give them away either.
We have several players who are good and if clubs want them then pay Premier League Prices no less
