in for Harry Kane from the media (it didn`t take long) and a lot on JA606. Why? Surely he is entitled to have a couple of off games, not as if he didn`t contribute anything at the weekend, he found the net from a goal that was ruled offside, and was fouled for the freekick, that led to the goal. Sure he was not at his best. But FFS are you going to drop every player just because he has an offday.
I don`t get it with the media and supporters, are they expecting every player in every game to hit 100 per cent form. Kane being slightly below par was offset by several other players being above par in what in the main was an excellent performance.
I remember the same media and supporters sneering at Kane at the poor start he made to the season just gone, he then went on to outscore every other footballer in the Prem and take the Golden Boot. I do wish supporters would take the time to see what he actually brings to the team, other than his goals (OK not the corners , his hold up play in general is superb. He can also head a ball, although bit difficult to get on the end of corners, when Hodgson is asking him to take them (ridiculous). As an all round striker he is the best in the country, so WTF would anybody even consider dropping a player that is going to be on the scene for many, many years.
Lot of unwarranted criticism coming

Kane will come good.
And if he doesn't, Vardy is waiting. It's all good for England right now.
I agree with you Sandy, there's too much drama over Kane at the moment!

I am gooner now
It may just be that he is tired after a ong season, but whatever the cause he did not do enough to justify selection above other strikers on form.
So let`s get this right, the top goalscorer in the league that has just finished is not on top form.

Apart from only taking one point from the worst team in the group and having to face a pumped up Wales you mean?

Kane on corners was a joke. Rooney takes a good corner, I'm sure the likes of Rose or Lallana must have something in their locker too.
Then again, we couldn't believe Dier took a free kick.

The trouble is Hodgson is so pig headed, it is pretty well a given that Kane will still be taking the corners against Wales. Total joke, but then this is Hodgson.

How can you blame the media on this one?
Kane was a passenger, how he stayed on is beyond comprehension..
I wouldn't change any of the starting line up art from swapping Kane for Vardy and Sterling for Sturridge!

We should be playing 2+ strikers
We brought 5 FFS
Give Kane some support and play to our stregths at the same time

I have not seen any explanation of Hodgson's thinking as to why he had his top striker taking corners.
Does Hodgson think Harry can kick the ball high in to the penalty area and run fast enough to get under it and head it in?
