I am happy that we face Liverpool right at the beginning of the season. Don't want to play them between the CL fixtures.

In the home game you would probably have an advantage as well where in March you would be out of the last 16 of the CL and we could be playing in the last stages of the cup competitions.

Arsenal,Spurs & Chelsea away plus Leicester at home first 5 games

Past few years though we've not been given the easiest fixtures to start the season.

This. The last two seasons and this coming one the fixture computer has absolutely shafted us.

If you're in and around the top end though the last 8 games are great for your run in

Liverpool v Bournemouth
Stoke v Liverpool
West Brom v Liverpool
Liverpool v Crystal Palace
Watford v Liverpool
Liverpool v Southampton
West Ham v Liverpool
Liverpool v Boro

I prefer a good run in the end than the start of the season. Good to get the tough ones out of the way.

They have been completely the opposite. Over the last few years they had started well and had been top until we and City took over and then Chelsea the following season and the Leicester. They start and end well but in between they drop points

Last three years on opening day they've lost at home to Aston Villa and West Ham, scraped past Palace at home with an injury time winner.

Much rather play them early doors than midway through the season.

Tough opening game, hopefully Burnley will agree to let us play them at Turf Moor in August because the new stand won't be ready till September now....

But, have you seen the last 6 weeks of the season? Easy compared to the start. If we find ourselves in top 6 by February, we do stand a good chance...
