Boycott the Malta game

The England fans should send a definitive message to the FA that we are fed up with inherent structure at the top level which is where the responsibility for our failings as a country really lies.

We are fed up with non football people making football decisions. Martin Glenn in his press conference this afternoon, who by the way will have some involvement in the next England appointment, admitted he is 'no football expert'

Greg Dyke has no experience in football. Brian Barwick, the mug who appointed McClaren and Capello has no experience in football. They still have no idea why we lost to Iceland and are apparently going to consult clubs and managers to find out why.....

The German FA had the same problem years ago. They replaced the suits with people who understood the game. If the England fans boycott the Malta match in October then they will be talking the only language these guys understand - revenue.

It is a disgrace, you beat Wales in the 93rd minute, failed to beat a dreadful Russia and Slovakia and lost to Iceland despite being collectively the highest paid squad of footballers on the planet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What does them being highly paid have to do with the FA?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What?

I don't care who pays them, it is still a disgrace and i am a bleedin' Scotland fan, the whole football world is now a joke dishing up a poor product.

Sorry, I thought we were having a crack at the FA.

Have a crack at the players, by all means. And the press for overhyping them. As usual.

I'm old enough to remember when England won the World Cup in '66 and Italy were knocked out early, being beaten on the way by North Korea. I'd put England's defeat to Iceland in the same category.

The difference is that when the Italy team flew home in disgrace, they had to go through the airport with all the other passengers and were all pelted with rotten fruit etc., at the airport by enraged supporters. Compare that to England's team who landed at Luton and were all whisked through to their chauffeur-driven limos, avoiding any chance of running the gauntlet of any annoyed and disappointed supporters. Therein lies the problem - they are protected and cocooned and kept separate from the "real" world that their fans inhabit. If they could experience at first-hand how much their poor performances have affected England supporters perhaps it might give them a wake-up call.

There was an interesting conversation on the radio yesterday afternoon which drew comparisons between the attitudes of the Wales and England players.

The discussion went on to declare that wholesale changes are needed in the England camp, right from the very beginning when players should earn their right to represent the country. Colossal amounts of food were served and wasted at their camp in France and every conceivable comfort was added which sounds as though they were waited on, hand and foot. The discussion went on to say that a 'no holds barred', boot camp-type regime should be introduced, with the likes of John Terry at the helm, making these newbies work hard to prove their worth. Cleaning up, doing as their told and generally falling in line or 'you're out'.

It sounds great and I'd be all for it but the impression I get is that some devalue the worth of appearing in an England shirt compared to the club's attire they sport week in, week out.

A difficult one to deal with this, but it needs someone to get a grip of things fast.

With the news that Raheem Stirling sprays his kit so he 'smells nice' while playing it's no wonder where we are with English Football.

My mistake, it wasn't Sterling but Sturridge!
