Some may now know what they did not know before. That is, Mercedes is un ashamedly for a Rosberg WDC. They are no longer trying to hide it, even to the point of coaching and aiding Rosberg on how to reset a gearbox mode. They failed to even given Lewis just a hint, when he asked if his problem was to do with HP. Utterly disgusting and unequal treatment for their drivers.
I still maintain Lewis must start looking around as his stay with Mercedes will only yield the rubbish treatment they have been dishing out. The less said about Ferrari the better! McLaren seem to be making some progress albeit at the pace of their two senior citizens!
Well done Lewis

Can the so called anti-conspiracy theorists, the considerate and rational F1 fans explain this one: Why in Baku was Mercedes utterly reluctant to give Lewis any sort of help on his mode settings where else with Rosberg they threw themselves over the radio to assist Britney not once but twice. They told him to change gear box mode and then also advised to shift through gear 7.
Waiting patiently in anticipation of your measured responses!

My explanation is that in Baku, Hamilton's car was still running and looking good for a points finish, whilst at Silverstone the Mercedes of Rosberg would have stopped on track with a seized gearbox. They took the decision that it was close enough to being a 'safety issue' to make the radio call.
I'm expecting Rosberg to be hit with a slap on the wrist and a 20 second time penalty, which would be enough to push him back to 4th place

Mercedes can't have it both ways. If they say he would have retired without the radio call, then a punishment of 10 seconds seems like getting off lightly.

Thank you trigg
Parking his car on the side of the road with waived Yellow flags would have been sufficient!
I was expecting Wolff to come out with his usual bile: "Both cars had the same problem"

Perez crashed out in Austria because his brakes were failing and the team couldn't tell him about it.

Rosberg receives 1.3s penalty. Retains 2nd.

It was a simple choice. Tell Rosberg what's wrong and take the rap or let him keep going to gear seven and blow the gearbox, resulting in a DNF. Simples.

What's taking those stewards so long? Surely they only need to answer 2 questions:
Was the radio message in breach of the rules, and if so what punishment is appropriate

Only a 10 second penalty. Still, wasn't that far out I suppose

I think Rosberg should be happy with that. Still leading the championship.
