Ok so we have made some decent signings this summer but we are still desperate for more striking power. Yes Ayew is still with us, although i expect him to leave before the season starts if a big club come in for him. It seems since we signed the 3 early summer its gone awfully quiet on the transfers coming in front. Is XIA really putting up the money he promised for players ?? The worrying thing for me is that we wont be able to get rid of dead wood like Richards, Bacuna, Lescott, Veretout.

You're not Premier league anymore

Yep, we're not PL. This means that the pool of players we can tap into is more limited, and it was limited enough when we were in the PL. My guess is that at the moment timing is the issue; we probably have targets in mind, it's a question of landing them.
The sort of player we ought to be after could also interest PL clubs, so the player might wait to see what happens, or we need to to pull out the stops to persuade the player to come to us. Reckon RDM did a good job in getting Gollini, who it was said wasn't initially interested.
The Mail said that it was currently in RDM's hands, and at the moment he's holding fire; it's not a Xia and money question. There are a few known possible targets. I'm wondering if he's working on somebody not on anybody's radar, as with Gollini.
If we're letting Guzan go on a free then I can't see money being the problem. We might have to cough up £3m to pay off Gabby; whatever, I just can't see him staying. Likewise Richards, and probably Lescott. From everything RDM has said he wants a small squad of highly committed players, plus plenty of chances for the U21s. I like the approach. I can't see Gabby, Lescott and Richards fitting.
Those first three signings are, I think, what we want. Top priority now is someone who can score; Ayew, even if he stays, can't do it on his own. It's over 4 weeks to the end of the transfer window and a lot of deals are done late. I have hopes. And another striker and/or midfielder would be nice.

Bacuna's been looking decent in pre-season. Wouldn't object if RDM keeps him. He's been messed about badly by previous managers; had a good first season, scored 5 goals, then could hardly get a game. If RDM and Clark can get him playing consistently then he could be very useful. A lot more useful than Veretout. As an attacking midfielder he can get in good passes and also score the odd goal, the sort of thing which can open up Championship defences. Not sure he can keep it going for 90 minutes but with the U21s lining up for game time maybe he doesn't have to.

The excitement of the takeover has fallen a little flat.
Difficult to know what is going to happen this season but a goalscorer is essential and maybe two?
Pre-Season difficult to judge, but yesterday apparently had rings of last season and other games have been against poor opposition.
Mid table seems likely as current squad doesnt have the quality/fight for the additional games in midweek and scrap of the championship imo.
Still time but Need plenty of outs and a few ins that will make a difference, whilst retaining those who will make a difference.
I hope im completely wrong
