Came out with some interesting comments the other day. Doesn't really change much in the big picture, but nice to know he cares and gets angry like the rest of us:
"The feeling after Newcastle was horrible," Pochettino said via the Daily Mail.
"It is true that after a couple of months you move on, but it put me in a bad mood for the whole of the summer. It killed my holidays. Seriously. I went to Barcelona and the Bahamas with my family, but all the time I was in a bad mood.
"There was no time to assimilate the defeat at Newcastle because the season finished at the end of the game and I did not have the chance to share my feelings with my players the day after and kill them!
"Normally when you lose and you are upset with the players you have the opportunity to tell them how you feel on Monday morning when you meet them and have a big discussion and a big fight.
"But after the Newcastle game it was not possible because many of my players went off to the Euros. So I had to keep my bad feeling inside for the whole of the summer.
"Even when I was texting my players in France to wish them well I had to hide my real feelings about the Newcastle game."

I thought they seemed more mentally exhausted though. Once the league title was gone their heads were down.

I take this point, but a 5-1 away defeat at a relegated side, when you still have the runners up spot to secure ahead of our fierce rivals is absolutely unacceptable in all situations apart from the whole squad being affected by some kind of bug, and just about scraping out an 11.

Not gonna disagree Chronic

LLM and Chronic I agree entirely with both your sentiments tbh. That Newcastle game still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Good to hear Poch hasn't forgotten about it either!

We didn't lose the game because of the dammed Bielsa burnout ffs. We lost because the players heads has gone following the Chelsea game. The level of application in that game was clearly shambolic, absolutely no way should they be ran ragged by a team that had been relegated 4 days prior to it.
Newcastle had pride to play for, we had points and prize money to play for. They showed the desire to go and get it

Totally agree LLM
Apart from the last bit, still believe we have what it takes to finish top four.
Yes the Manchester clubs and Chelsea have new high profile managers and high profile signings but all three will be in transition.
We already have a very good coach, a set of very talented players and most importantly continuity with a settled squad.
I just don't think the likes of Ibrahimovic, Gundogan, Nolito, Batsyuayi, Mikytarian, and Kante are any better than Kane, Eriksen, Lamela, Dembele, and Alli.
Maybe Kante who is a top top player but Dembele runs him close.
I think we have bought very well in Wanyama and Janssen, yes not huge names but nonetheless will be astute buys imo.

That and the Chelsea game have pretty much taken the shine off the season for me.

Ledley the Chelsea game for me showed a lack of experience. By that, I mean losing their cool for stages. However in contrast to the Newcastle game, at least against Chelsea there was drive and fight present. Gimme the Chelsea performance over the non show of the Newcastle game any week!

They shouldn't have lost their cool, totally unacceptable. Wasn't the first time they'd froze in the second half either. Just go for the throat, kill them off and then laugh at them and their sorry season

Poch clearly doesnt care about spurs only himself, thats why he was trying to get the chelsea job all summer
