Gazidis will be very relieved that Wenger didn't sign a £35m wonderboy. Because Arsenal had £80m to spend and he wanted to keep £50m for the next manager.

Lots of talk this is Wenger's final season, along with Pat Rice.

For what it's worth, I would not be entirely surprised if Gazidis is in his role for much longer than Wenger (maybe?) and the current board, Kroenke and all are banished in a hostile takeover...
