Agreed Lanza.
Admittedly Forest are looking like what they are, a team from much higher up the ladder but on the few occasions we get the ball we lose it again straight away.
I suppose a truer viewing of our prospects will come in the league game in Saturday but so far tonight we look really average.
In fact England looked better against Iceland than us tonight.

Well the 2nd half we seemed to come out a different team! First half dire although forest for all there possesion had 1 shot and scored a good goal. 2nd half we got in there faces.got the ball wide and created chances. But for a bit of luck and a couple of last ditch clearances by the forest defenders on the goal line we could have sneaked it. However same old rovers last minute switch off.
Overall lets face it we werent to fussed about going through going up and trying to limit the amount of injuries is more important but if we take the 2nd half of tonight into saturdays game we could see a home win by a big margin!
Ps a forest fan came with and sat in the home end with me tonight and was impressed by Rowe and Mandeville when he came on. Says we gave them a good game and if players just relaxed more instead of hitting balls anywhere we look a decent outfit and expect us to go up. Fingers crossed!

To be fair we had a good go at them in the last half hour.
We began to up the tempo of our play and Florist had a problem with that.
Blair got behind them a few times and when our goal came I wasn't surprised.
The Florists then had to show a bit of urgency after playing within themselves sand either side could have nicked the win.
Their winner however came about after we had a shot blocked on the edge of their box and one of our players(I don't know which one) failed to react to the loose ball, in fact he stood and watched it.
Forest knocked the ball away and they scored the winner.
As for our boys I thought Marosi, Wright, Butler,Marquis and particularly Blair had decent games but no one else stood out for me.
Once again we lose to an injury time goal but overall I thought our second half effort had earned us a chance to go to penalties.

Firstly MOM Blair.
I thought Mandy did more than ok.
Wright very good.
Marosi butler did ok.I maybe think marosi could have done a little bit better with the first goal but not blaming him.
Marquis ran his socks off should have scored and thats what being a forward is all about.
Still waiting for the Drama Queen to turn up.
The ref got the result he wanted.

Agree on the ref Lanza.
He gave Forest lots of soft free kicks, including the one from which they scored the opener.

I've just watched the high lights and take some positive things from them. However, the first goal was from a really bad head out - straight to a NF player. It was a great finish, and I thought Marko did well to get his fingers to it. The second may have been from an uncalled foul, but the scorer was all on his own. Three at the back, again?
I like Marquis, but he did miss a really good chance. I hope he is not another striker who runs his socks off, but does not score goals.
Remember, these comments are from the brief (all be it, 10 minutes) high lights. i really appreciate comments from those who were there.

These injury time goals must be related in part at least to team mentality.
You could draw a comparison with playing the last (18th) hole in a golf match. If one player is one up (winning by 1 hole) after 17, he needs to just halve (draw) the last (18th) hole to win the match. Sometimes the match is all square after 17 holes, so either player could win it on the 18th or it could finish all square.
So there is an obvious comparison with a football match, but the difference between what is typical in golf and the Rovers is plain. Nobody ALWAYS loses that last hole.
You say to yourself "Play your normal game". You don't say "I'll lose the hole if I fail to concentrate." Concentration brings over-anxiety; do we really believe that the team are not hugely anxious and that they are not massively focussed on not conceding, given recent history?
No, it is impossible to believe that they are not "concentrating". Like the individual sportsman they need to try to relax and play normally.
