DUFC News

We'll start with transfer news, and we say a fond farewell to the Estonian Jesus as Henri Anier leaves Tannadice after we agreed to pay up his contract. Who can forget his, erm, couple of goals and his, erm, tinder profile.

He joins a long list of Jackie signings who have to be paid to leave - Oyenuga, Connolly, Darko, Sneijder, Wilson, Paton, Muirhead, Lochhead, Szromnik, Adayemo, Kuhl, Taggart, Goodwillie and Bilate were all paid to leave the club.

This leaves us short up front, with Murray the only recognised senior striker at the club, and the manager has brought in Canadian international Marcus Haber on trial, with the 6'3 former St Johnstone striker looking to impress.

Tonight United take on Partick Thistle in the league cup. The Terrors welcome back Scott Fraser from suspension and he'll likely replace VDV who misses out after picking up two bookings in the group stage. United are likely to continue to be without both full backs, with Paul Dixon having underwent surgery at the weekend that will rule him out for around 8 weeks, while Toshney is also struggling. This means that Jamie Robson will continue to deputise at left back while Arabs will need to continue to endure Dillon's horrific performances at right back.

I have a feeling we'll crash out of the cup tonight, but we'll wait and see. Ultimately I'm not that fussed as the league is the priority.

Mon the Terrors.

We seriously never paid loan signings to leave?

Good test tonight against Premiership opposition. Hopefully we show what we'll bring to the league next season and embarrass one of the clubs that schemed to see us go down.

I've been led to believe there is a fine for cutting a loan short, as we have committed to paying their wages for that period.

That's depressing. Almost as depressing as seeing we're playing no strikers tonight.
