Hi toffee fans. Hope all is well on the blue side of stanley park.
I shall be in attendance at your historic ground on saturday supporting the villa. As in most cases away fans always think there is a chance of a result and games between us are rarely goalless. A number of my travelling companions believe there is a greater chance of a result on saturday due to Arteta departing. Personally, I am more cautious. One man does not make a team etc, etc.
I would get like to get a feel for how you guys think saturdays game may go taking into account this loss added to the fact we have lost young and downing.
For me it adds up to a potentially tasty encounter (with Moyes certainly keen to ensure team spirit is doubled) with a score draw being the most likely result. I still enjoy the day out and a pit stop at the arkles though.
Cheers.

Well...Victor Anichebe is injured (Fank Thuck!) so we will win. Probably play Saha upfront considering we just sold our promising young forward, we might even see Drenthe on the wing!!!
Possibly a cameo from Gueye?! I dunno...

Cahill up front is my bet.
Ossie left.

Strange formation but probably true from PJS. DM is certainly his own man, sometimes I think he does these things to us out of sheer bloody-mindedness.

Be an interesting game as both sides need a win. Arteta's loss won't be felt too keenly I think, he's not been brilliant these last two seasons, just depends what affect his going so late has had on the dressing room. Drenthe will make an appearance at some point and if Louis is fit then I can see us scoring, if not then we'll struggle.
Would like to see Jags back to his best now the window has closed.

Baines, Cahill, Gueye, Anichibe, Saha & Coleman all injured apparently.
Would like to see both the newbies start but would also like to see Baines injury as an opportunity to either Garbutt or Bidwell. Our other young players that have had to step in because of injury have done well in past ( Coleman et al).
Howard
Neville, Johnny, Jags, Garbutt
Barkley, Osman, Felaini, Drenthe
Denis, Vellios.
Wishful thinking though.

That looks a very weak left hand side defensively.
I'll go,
--------Howard
Hibbert--Jags--Johnny--Distin
Barkley--rodwell--Fellaini--Osman--Drenthe
-----------Vellios/Denis
Hibbo was fantastic against Sheff Utd. So much better than Nev for me.

After all the goals in this fixture in recent years, I'm going for a 0 - 0.
The thought of Baines not playing is much more of a concern than 'teta.

@philsablue
To me Hibbert and Neville are interchangeable, both have their faults, I went with Neville because i cant see Moyes dropping his captain plus i think Hibbo can be caught flat footed sometimes, esp against the better teams.
Would you not rather see a youngster at LB who actually plays in that position rather than a 1st teamer playing out of position? For me, the chance to play a youngster is a good opportunity. Also think Jags/Johnny can cover the inevitable mistakes.
