Why would a Japanese signing boost support and sales in China?

FFS Asians are not going to start supporting Arsenal or buy merchandise because there is a player at Arsenal from that part of the world, especially not for a young unknown player. We are all frustrated with Wenger/club, but from what I have seen Asano looks talented and he isn't here for a marketing reason.
