So this is an aston villa type appointment... and shows clearly the same flaws that have wasted our time for 4/5 years in the "committee" are still there... complete joke this.

I have no idea whether Woodgate will be a good scout. I don't know who any of our other scouts are, and nor do I really care.

Hopefully he can help us find some players we may have previously not noticed. How anyone can decide he won't do that is completely beyond me.

I liked him as a player but he had really really bad injuries to his thigh. Classy though.

Seems a bright lad when interviewed.

I have no idea of his qualities as a scout but he knows Spain well and that's where he will be working.

I can't say for sure because I've never met the chap but Woodgate's nickname used to be "Village". As in village idiot.

If you're standing out as a bit stupid amongst a bunch of footballers, well it's not a great sign!
