It appears that we are baulking at paying over the odds for players because foreign clubs are trying to extract as much money as possible simply because of the English TV deal. Well, who can blame them? Maybe if players had been bought 12 months ago we wouldn't now have the current situation. Saying it's not surprising prices are getting silly because of the TV money ignores the fact that clubs must have known that a massive financial windfall was going to occur long before the final figures were announced so signings last year would have pre-empted this. The real problem appears to be incompetence and a continual retrospective, but false, justification for inaction.

Wenger complains that the market is over inflated whilst picking up £8m a year . The market is what it is You sink or you swim!
Wenger harks back to the good old days when things were done on a gentleman's agreement Now it's dog eat dog out there

Seems wenger has forgotten how much profit we made selling anelka to Real Madrid and adebayor to City. Both inflated prices.

I can see him being even more stubborn this window. Because everyone else is spending big, he'll want to show he can still do well with spending little. I know 35m on Xhaka is quite a lot. But not when you consider our income and other deals.
If we play well against Liverpool, I won't be surprised at all if Wenger doesn't even buy a CB

We are buying a CB and that will be it.
If Per and Gabriel were not injuries xhaka would have been our only signing

There's been times in the past Wenger has refused to buy cover for injuries. Won't be surprised if he does the same.
If we keep a clean sheet it will certainly result in him believing we are in no desperate need for a new player.

going to be a interesting game, if Liverpool do win which i expect due to our defensive issues. I wonder if the boos, jeers & spend some money chants will be in full effect.

unfortunately there probably will be if there's a lacklustre performance. The club have yet to show any ambition, they bring it on themselves
