What do people who have been to the games think about Marosi and Etheridge?
In the pre-season games from what I saw both seemed competent.
I think DF was going to play Marosi against NF despite Etheridge's less than spectacular performance against Accrington to see how he handled the game.
I assume DF started Etheridge against Crawley so as not to destroy a young keeper's confidence.
However, although he may have been confused by a Rovers' defender that was close to him, how the hell did he allow that cross to go past him?
OK guys, who would you start against Cambridge?

I dont rate either Mickey.
Etheridge had a mare for the goal at Accrington and his play saturday left a bit to be disired. His kick which nearly span back to the goal was bizarre and again i thought he could have done better at the front post for the pull back on saturday.
Marosis kicking against forest was wayward too and he doesnt command his box. A couple of games he played last season he was suspect to.
Hopefully Etheridge improves as hes come here with a good reputation we currently arent seeing. Early doors maybe but doesnt give you confidence going forward when you dont have a solid keeper.

I think Etheridge.
Both better than Gary Woods

This is my specialist subject so you are getting my wisdom on the subject.
Neither I would look for the finished item. Both are immature and lack the confidence to help us out of this league.
Etheridge is making fundamental mistakes that should be sorted out on the training ground. He does not get down well or quick enough. A keeper should play off his toes and not be flat footed Woods was a prime example of a flat footed Keeper. One of the main criteria of being a good keeper is the ability to repeatedly pick up your own body weight very quickly. This can only be achieved from playing off your toes. Have you ever seen a flat footed high jumper or basket ball plyer. ?
