well
Where do you start, what a fantastic evening at Celtic Park. I don't think anyone can say they didn't enjoy that last night, terrific football, electric atmopshere, goals, chances it had everything.
We were stunning in the first half, battered a team who are no mugs, pressed them all half and I think 3-0 flattered them tbh
Then the old Celtic crept back in for a few minutes, how did we respond? with absolutely no panic, brought Bitton on to control the game which he did, brought Janko on to get us up the park which he did and brought Dembele on to get us the goal and he did.
The support was terrific aswell no negativity when it went to 3-2 the loudest cheer of the night was probably when we kicked off at 3-2
and for the man of the match to pop up and get the late 5th was the icing on the cake.
most i've enjoyed a game for years.
Ratings -
Gordon 6 - Should've saved the first goal, great save from a header at 3-2 apart from that had nothing to do.
Lustig 7 - First half I thought he was brilliant, strong in the tackle and picked Griffiths out time and time again with 25-30 yard passes. Correct decision to sub him.
Toure 7 - Thought he was slow in getting back for their 1st goal but apart from that everything that came near him was dealt with, great run for the 2nd goal.
O'Connell 8 - His reading of the game is improving, his tackling is solid and he never wasted a pass, needs to be a bit stronger in the air.
Tierney 6 - One of his poorest Celtic performances and he still played relatively well, found himself 2 on 1 at times
Brown 9 - One of finest Celtic performances, i think the high pressing game helps him and having Toure behind him may be taking some pressure off him, he was everything you'd want in a captain.
McGregor 7 - Might be controversial but I thought he was very good in the first half, always looking to move the ball on quickly and the pace of the game suited him, again correct decision to remove him when BR did
Forrest 8 - Im giving him an 8 for the sheer fact he worked his socks off and now does everything he never used to, lots of stuff never came off for him but he fought hard and his ball for the 2nd goal was stunning
Rogic 6 - Goal aside I didnt think he had the best of games, doesnt win enough in the air for his size, got bullied a few times by no.30 but important composed strike
Sinclair 7 - I think a 7 might be generous but he was involved in the first 2 goals, his pace late in the game helped us a lot BUT i think that miss has kept them barely alive
Griffiths 9 - He's becoming a fantastic all round striker, took both his goals like a world class footballer. Never stopped running
all 3 subs were fantastic when they came on, done their job perfectly
Celtic 5 - 2 Hapoel

said that people are hard on him but they forget that he played well against barca, benfica, spartak and that we wouldnt have got to play juve without him.
said his head is clearly gone.

he's going to leave but if we dont have a buyer by the end of the window we should see if hibs will take him.
maybe working with lennon again will help.

Brendan is great at getting the best out of guys but Efes too far down the order now. Shame really as he seems a very decent guy and clearly loves the club. Wish him all the best.

Efe played well up until the Juve game and even when he came back after his post game exile he still had decent games. But the errors started getting more frequent and his time here as passed.
The interview is still available on the BBC Sport Scotland website. I was listening to last night on the drive home but I lost signal halfway along the London Road. I hate the London Road post match

I never criticise a bad player just for being bad.
I believe that you have to criticise the manager for that, not every player can be Beckenbauer.
What I want is every player to give 100%. That's why I loved Riseth, I'd rather support him while giving 100% even if his 100% isnt great, than support someone like Viduka or Berkovic who is clearly talented but not giving everything.
Our defenders have been too fond of finding the treatment room in the last few years, especially before big games. Efe has always been the last man standing.
It would have been very easy for Efe to also report a knock or a niggle to avoid playing those high pressure games, especially since the fans have been getting on his back. But he doesn't. He reports for every game regardless.
Blame Lenny for buying him, or playing him against Juve. Blame Ronny or Lawwell for failing to provide adequate defensive cover that would have avoided the need to play him. But don't blame Efe, a man who turns up and gives everything, when it would be much easier to hide.

Thought McGregor was decent too, I think it showed more when he went off though.
Brown and Bitton isn't a good partnership and we lost control of the midfield for about 15 mins from them being too deep.

i think bittons experience secured the win as much as anything tbh.
clever fouls as well.

Don't mind one or the other, just don't think they work well together.
