Pakistan Do The Impossible!

They win a Test series!

Remember the days of 606 when a lot of people thought Pakistan were on par with Zimbabwe, well we've just beaten them now. So, lets applaud them for doing the impossible because I thought I had more chance of going to the moon to have breakfast!

Ah, by the way, in our previous 6 Test series', all of which have been played away from home, we've only lost one of those series'....who'd of thought?

Anyway, that don't matter because we're still the worst Test nation going because, if any other nation were in our shoes, surrounded by the controversies etc... they'd do much better, right!? I mean they'd get knocked out of the group stages of a WC, and not make a semi-final, despite 6 months prior to the WC, 3 players spot-fixing!

Afridi,

I also have sympathy for Amir but what about the other 2.One of them is a perennial wrongdoer and the other one studied in the elitist schools of the country.Though I do agree that it's worst cricket board in the world without a shadow of doubt but the players are culpable for the current predicament too. Another case was the revolt by Yusuf,Malik and co against Younis.and to exacerbate the situation. Afridi continued to entertain not with the bat but with his tongue.

Hamz,

Agree regards to Asif and Butt - both are a disgrace to pakistan and cricket alike.

I think Malik is just a trouble-causer and revoulted against Yusuf in Auss aswell... Not sure why hes been brought back to be honest.

Afridi has every right to use his "tongue" against the pcb. The guy performed miracles with the ball and captaincy in India to get us to the semis, only to be told he cant play for Pak again. How do you expect him to react? Altho, I do agree that his comments on waqar recently are uncalled for.

Neon even if it does get lifted i cant see teams like Aus and England travelling to Pak. Aus never travelled when it was pretty safe to go there back in the 90s.

I get your point Afridi regarding the home drawn series against SA and drawing with Aus in England but lets see what happens now when we play Sri Lanka and England. I have to say since Misbah took over as skipper everything has been calm and peaceful but we are now losing Waqar who has done a great job coaching and lifting Pak back up after the scandels. Well done to the legend Waqar and hope his wife gets well soon.

From the outside Pakistan have had the talented players, expecially bowlers but the weakest part has been playing as a team, supporting each other on the field when things aren't going well. Why this seems to be I don't know.

Since the tour of England I have only watched them play in the WC and it looked like they had an attitude of, lets show everyone out there we are a good team and we will do well despite everything that's happened. The classic 'Everyone hates us but lets show 'em'.

Perhaps this team attitude was also put forward in the Tests.

If Pakistan could sort everything out off the field as well as playing at home and play as a team they could be top four and then take it from there.

They have always been the opposite of New Zealand, who down the years have played as a team, the classic 'the sum of the parts is greater than the whole', with only a few great players, although they are going through a bad time now.

A serious question here: Does the class/caste system in Pak(?)/India have an undermining effect on the whole 'playing as a term' ethos?

I am completely in the dark on this one, but it's not a question I've seen asked before, and I think getting the feedback from those of you in the know would maybe shed some light on the subject for the non Asians on the board.

Sorry, I cant enlighten u on this since caste system does not exist in Pakistan.

That's why I put the (?) next to Pak.

As I said, I'm in the dark on this topic, and any sensible feedback is welcomed.

An Indian will be a better person to get you out of darkness but as far as I know, as per Hindus scriptures there are 4 castes in hierarchical order.I assume the situation is a lot of better now but the caste systelm still prevails in villages or remote areas of the country. Why dont u google and get yourself out of the miserable darkness.
