Caster and Team GB

I know... again this does not belong to football but have to get this of my chest.

Lynsey Sharps comments about Caster Semenya are absolutely crazy... I mean who does she think she is? Are we now going to say Mr Phelps body shape is suited to swimming so that is unfair, what about a certain Usain and his long legs so he can sprint away. She is juts a sore looser and one who finished 6th.

Also stars of Team GB getting knighthoods according to a certain paper. Again what the F for. This is there job, if you gave me money to pay my bills so I could train all day long do you not think I would be up there too.

People who struggle with life having possibly two jobs to keep payment of their bills and having children and looking after them, thats where knighthoods should go.

It is commonly known that black athletes are quicker because of their ability make up of their DNA. Is this not the same sort of thing

--------
Not according to multiple gold medalist Michael Johnson it's not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Firstly it has been proven that Black athletes have something (can't remember what it is called Fast twitch or something) which means they respond better to recovery and fatigue. This inherently means they can train more and become faster. Don't get me wrong for what MJ did he would have to work extremely hard and no one can take that away from him, but that is the fact is black athletes have an advantage. This is no different from Caster. Again I go to Usain Bolt. The guy has long legs which would mean once he is up running in his sprint he can cover more distance that anyone else. Or Simone Biles is small so she can create more thrust to jump and due to her size she can flip easier. What about M Phelps who is built for swimming his torso is matched that way, he too has an unfair advantage.

Are fast twitch muscles some rare condition outside of the normal spectrum?

How about Biles has she got some kind of extreme dwarfism that gives her some advantage?

Bolt has been mentioned a few times on here, the guy is what 6"7, that isn't completely abnormal, I've known a fair few guys that height, the NBA is filled with them.

If her condition is as common as...

1) being Black
2) being tall
3) being short

Then no problem.

From the little I understand though its a bit different from that.

Although what exactly is it with Phelps, his torso is matched that way isn't the most descriptive statement in the world....

Bolt/Phelps physical advantages have nothing to do with their seex, which is how the competitions are separated. Semenya's does which is why it is different.

If this isn't sorted out, how long before the majority of athletes have hyperandrogenism or similar conditions that give them an unfair advantage in the future?

It's an impossible situation with no right answer.

----------------------------------------------------------------------Semenya is a women, all test have shown it, she may have traits of being a male but that does not make her a male. What this boils down to is unfair advantage.

Also do you believe that Lynsey Sharp would have said what she said if Semenya ended up 6th. No she is talking about the unfair advantage.

We don't know what she is as nothing has been released as far as I know, if you believe it's true that she has testes that means she has a Y chromosome which makes her not a female. I'm not saying she can't be a woman I'm saying biologically she is somewhere between being male and female.

Some may think it's unfair but it would also be unfair if she couldn't race as there are only two categories, male and female. She obviously can't compete as a male.

As I said earlier, the idea of gender being as black and white as male and female is outdated.

And we aren't even touching on the people who have now been legally designated as having no defined gender.

It will eventually have to be addressed, although it may take another couple of generations.

For what it's worth, I feely deeply sorry for Caster and any other athlete in this situation. To have to go through this at every turn and have people discuss you so graphically must be hugely upsetting.
