With our injuries pulling up , what are the odds we might be facing a tough opposition soon with these two at the back???!

i'm concerned about djourou. i mean he was very good before the end of last season, but he just seems to have melted after that shoulder injury against man utd in the fa cup. i wonder if we rushed him back. then again, he has just had a long break, so i'm just gibbering now. if i had any shame i wouldn't even post this comment. but i will.

We have to all pray that Per "Giant Hleb" Mertesacker adapts quickly and stays fit. Stand up wherever you are and start screaming "Per, Per, Per, Per" continuously while doing various martial arts poses.

If they show the form they did as a partnership before JD got injured at OT then it won't be a problem!

Djourou was brilliant against Chelsea at the Emirates, he was coming of age. We then had tough battles against Stoke and Everton and we won a little ugly and our centre backs were outstanding, as was the whole team.
Even Squillaci played very well against Stoke at home. Now I cant recognise that brilliant team from the team that fell away at the end to what we see now.
We were at the time the best team in the country.
Maybe the carling cup final? Our defence didn't play well that day and they never recovered. But i think it's the team and the loss of Fabregas last season to injury.
The team lost that great momentum and it affected the less experienced players confidence- Djourou is suffering from lack of confidence.
That night against Barcelona at the Emirates- Djourou and Koscielny were world class.
We never really recovered from the setbacks and we had rotten luck with unbelievable refereeing decisions(the v.persie nou camp scandal) and injury.
We had the best 11 last season with the best 3 midfield unit in the prem, but as we know some squad players were not up to it.
Defending is a team effort and the midfield is key to good defending, the team playing well breeds confidence. We've had so many set backs since we were on our way to being succesful that confidence is shot to pieces, confidence is low but the tide can turn, we need some majic from the ashes.

Djourou is Garbage and should no longer be in an Arsenal shirt.... Or maybe he should sign away his rights as a defender and take up a more forward role? One of the worst defenders i have ever seen but actually nice pace when going forward... cant pass very well though... Na bin him, WAGE THEIF!
