#wba trying to sign William Carvalho from Sporting Lisbon for around £21m, putting a hold on Camacho's £15m move. Both defensive midfielders

It would be insane if we signed WC. I'd like to think we'll up our bid but i'd be amazed if we managed to meet Sporting's valuation.

There's a fair few other big money names we're being linked with today so I guess it's a case of sitting tight and seeing what happens!

We need to target the right player for the job and pay the money. Why can't we sign both?

Why not both. The Baggies have been in the PL long enough to push on. A place just inside the Top 10 and some decent football isn't impossible! Is it... ??

Becuase we don't need both.

Both are DM's.

Yacob, Fletcher and Field (massively impressive) already play there.

Because signing both would cost us £40 million!

Back in the day where making money was what mattered, I often bought two (of something) and then re-sold the one I didn't want. It worked for me.

But.. point taken JH and Pulisaurus.

I hope we won't be looking over our shoulders again this season because yet again we haven't got the right players in. This is now our seventh season back in the PL and this summer the current head coach has got two out of five players he wants, and one of those was from summer last year. We need two permanent full backs, an attacking MF and a forward. Against that, we've got players who need to go. Two have gone, Anichebe and Gamboa. Lambert needs to go as soon as. Is Pocognoli still with us? And at least one of Gardner, McManaman and McLean won't be far behind.

Aries, if we had the replacements, I would be more than happy to see your last three names go BUT, you missed one name out - Anthony Richard Pulis. (aka Shiite)

With Gamboa gone to Celtic and Poco to Brighton, just need to move Lambert out. Just a few hours now and we can review our 'window' performance. Until then, the jury is out.

Yep, Poco has gone to Brighton on loan. Definitely need to get shot of Lambert!
