Just up and running for the day,

and I see that Spurs have splashed the cash on Sissoko, far, far too much in my opinion, but hey ho, it aint my money. The question is surely Spurs have not spent £30 million to sit him on the bench, so whose place will he take in the first XI?

Don`t know a great deal about him, other than he scored against Spurs last season, and had a half decent euros, but apparently that was the best he played all season, so he looks a bit like a player that don`t turn it on too often. I suppose as an addition to the squad he will be useful, but Spurs record on spending big on players aint brilliant if the truth be told, but here`s hoping that this one bucks the trend.

1 in 39 strike rate last season. Impressive.

Morning all.

Stunned by this signing. Never seen us panic buy so badly. £30m?!?!?!?!?

Very average player who doesn't improve our first team and is now our record signing.

Honestly, what happened yesterday?

Better call zlatan, the "average" Sissoko totally outshone your 89 million golden boy Pogba at the euros. I'm not to bothered about last seasons performance where Newcastle were an absolute joke on and off the field as per usual. He still got 5 assists in a woeful Newcastle side. He's no world beater but under poch he will thrive no doubt about it

The key point here is that Newcastle was a very poor side last year & their start to the new Championship season indicates they are going to have to improve dramatically, to justify being favourites to bounce straight back into the PL

If Poch can get Sissoko to embrace his philosophy and team ethos, he could prove to be an inspired signing & eventually worth the outlay

Sissoko performed in 1 out of 6 or 7 games last season for Newcastle but the same could be said of Wijnaldum.

Sissoko on his day is a machine, so much power and pace and he can be unstoppable. Poch won't tolerate any inconsistency and I'm sure will get the best out of him.

Going back to Sandy's question i don't think Sissoko will be a nailed on starter but due to his versatility right across all midfield positions will play a lot of games this season.

We all know our first eleven is top class and we wanted a strong bench this season, something we lacked last season. Now we have -

Vorm, Wimmer , Wanyama, Sissoko, Son, NKoudou and Janssen.

Thats 18 players with Lopez, Trippier, Davies, CCV, Winks, Carroll, Onomah and Edwards in reserve.

I think Sissoko will prove to be a great signing, Poch will get him playing like the FSW did at the end of last season, there was no wonder he was ordinary for the most of last season when being motivated by McLaren.

Sissoko`s stats last season were quite good for a player in a relegation team and he was immense at the Euro`s.
