The Outcome

Took £90 for the 5th round stoppage.

Brook still has a future at middleweight for me if he acclimatises to it which he will.

I'd give him a great chance against every middleweight apart from Canelo as he's more supermiddle come fight night.

Give Brook two years to get used to the weight and if Golovkin is still at it, then I'd love to see that rematch

That said.. one punch finished this fight for Golovkin. The broken cheek bone/eye socket meant Brook couldn't fight back.

And a bit of kidology from Golovkin.. Brook did hurt him, even if it wasn't fight ending shots.

Can't wait for each of their next fights!

Onehopeful, I agree with your comment and the other one you made on the live thread. GGG was punishing him round by round. Size was an issue.

At the time of the KO, one judge had Kell winning and the other 2 had it a draw.

Nonsense from so many about brook today exposed nothing except that he's not a middle weight, GGG has great head movement but Brooks got great hands too so he was always going to land some shots none of which troubled GGG

I like Brook, but apart from superior speed to what GGG is used to, I didn't see any new chinks in GGG's armour. GGG doesn't necessarily have a great defence in terms of head or body movement, he pretty much takes the punches and takes them easily. Brook's speed was a problem for GGG and I said a few days ago it would take GGG a few rounds to get used to it. All this talk of 'GGG was exposed.... He's overrated.....' is just a bunch of fanboys getting excited.

Not trying to take anything away from Brook at all by the way, think he's a very good fighter who could probably beat lesser MW's and could be a big player at LMW, but GGG was always going to get him at some point during the mid-late rounds of the fight.

I'm not sure anyone at SMW has the speed, skill and power to beat GGG.

I don't know I think GGG moves his head well, I have probably over stayed it above but his subtle head feints allow him close distance and then sets up his jab, he is a flat footed fighter hence the power but his confidence in his own chin lets him take a shot to land one.

He's everything I like to see in a boxer absolutely love him

Anyone can have confidence in their chin against people who cannot dig. Let's see if it holds out if he decides to move up and test himself against people who can hit hard and take hard.

For some reason he reminds me of Kelly Pavlik.
