I have always said we have one of the best attacks in the league with City. Our problem was and is the defence. I hope Matip will improve us.

There was one moment in the game when Vardy had the chance 1v1 against Matip and Matip beat him for pace and Vardy is one of the quickest players in the league.

Matip has also totally proven me wrong I didn't rate him at all but he's looked excellent so far, early days yet of course.

I have seen him for Schalke in the Bundesliga and he always impressed me. The CB position is about partnerships and creating an understanding with your fellow CB. I saw Schalke against Bayern last friday and their defence was all over the place even with Howedes as a CB.

I think I must have just seen a compilation of his screw ups

Matip has been calm and has good skills on the ball.

Calmness always helps. Hes got that down. Henderson however needs to sacrifice himself and cover the guy cos i could see times he was oh here we go and didnt really want to step back but when matip goes he just goes and someone is going to have to plug the hole he will leave.
