I can see an argument for both sides. I think there was some intent there but it's not like he swung the arm. Can't see it going any further.

I think all agree that if this was seen by the Referee then he probably would have received either a caution or a red, so does it deserve an FA Charge?

I think you over estimate how many people think this is a foul.

Don't think there is much in that, tbf. Pretty natural for a player to challenge in that way, Otamendis head is quite low for some reason. Just a normal physical challenge that probably looks worse than it is.

It does look like he leads with the elbow... Guess you judge it by whether or not you think he was extending the arm in an attempt to get across the player, or to contact the player. He's looking at the ball so it's hard to determine intent.

Wouldn't put it past him though. He's a clever/nasty player.

I read that the FA is considering an eight hour course in Ballet dancing postures for all PL players in the hope that elbow and forearm damage to opposing players will be reduced in number?

Only problem I have with the Sergio elbow is that he didn't just look and hit him like its made out. He was getting it in the face by Reid and he gave it back. Also otamendi walked off bandeged up and kolorov lost a tooth. But know one would no why? Judging from sky sports coverage.
