Steve McClaren

So then, it's been heard that "The Wally with the brolly" wants to run his own football club, or that's an ambition of his.

This man can't run a football team nevermind chairman of a club. He couldn't get Derby out of the Championship when all the foundations were already in place and they were ready for the PL and he sunk Newcastle into the Championship because he couldn't manage the players. He couldn't even get England into Euro 2008...

Obviously becoming a chairman is a completely different aspect of football to management and who knows, he might be successful at it yet. But surely you just can't see it?

Thoughts?

All these bad deals pale in to insignificance when you look at the the money we paid for Rob Earnshaw, Clod and Bradley Johnson. They were really deals throwing good money after bad.

Thanks for that bit of gen Vidal. I did not know about that.

I generally agree Spart but that was good money just chucked away over McC. £4m or so.

Earnshaw was a snip compared to Sammon

It should also be remembered that Brad Johnson only cost us £6m, so he's some way to go before he catches up to the £360m that Keogh has cost us so far.

Why sell Martin to wolves when they should be challenging Derby for promotion

posted on 13/9/16

Sammon scored more for us than Earnshaw and cost around 3 times less so how do you make that out 666. Are you using Strett maths? As for the Keogh remark, you don't know what you are talking about.

I reckon Martin has been loaned is so we can call him back in January if we get a new manager, who might appreciate a good player.

Well at the moment it looks as if Fulham will be your bigger challenge for promotion this season rather than Wolves.

Earnshaw cost £3m and was sold for £2.65m, scoring twice in his season with us.
Sammon cost £1.2m, was paid to leave after four seasons and scored 13 times.
There's not a hair between them for value.

Keogh's cost is well documented.
