I come in peace,
I just wanted to get some thoughts from Utd fans because I feel like he's approaching things in a very unJose Mourinho like fashion. Please bare in mind it is only 5 games into the league season so these observations are very early days
Mourinho's reputation:
- Defence first coach (teams are usually well drilled,compact/hard to break down)
- Favours specialist players in their positions
- Usually has a centre back pairing that includes an experienced/league winning centre back
- Prioritises a 'world class' defensive midfielder to protect back four
- Favours at least one wide man with the energy to track back and defend
- Is happy to drop high profile players for the sake of the team
What we've seen so far
- United appear to be disorganised, not compact and not well drilled positionally
- Daley Blind, a specialist DM/LB, is playing at CB - continuing van Gaal's era
- Wayne Rooney, a specialist striker/10 - who he said would not play midfield for him, played in a central midfield role today
- His centre back options of Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Daley Blind - whilst all holding potential, are uncharacteristically inexperienced for a Mou CB
- Paul Pogba, who has been most effective as the attacking outlet in a midfield 3, is playing as a defensive box to box in a midfield 3
- Marouane Fellaini is playing the defensive midfield role for a man who has always priorities world class defensive midfielders
- His failure to drop high profile Wayne Rooney inspite of poor performances affecting the team as a whole is contrary to his reputation
I genuinely find Mourinho's current approach and set up at Utd as fairly puzzling what do you guys think

One aspect of Mourinho that hasn't changed is his ability to blame referees for defeats. He never remembers the games his teams have won or drawn thanks to crap refereeing.

I said a few weeks ago that this mourinho seems to be trying to be someone else.
His whole mannerisms are different to the mourinho at previous clubs.
Almost like he is restrained. Maybe in awe of UTD? Or simply told we expect a certain decorum here jose

Has he been sacked yet? United need to go all out for Steve Bruce before he gets snapped up. Worked wonders at Hull and obviously is a United legend.
Mourinho will get you nowhere signing trash like Pogba. He was overpriced to the tune of 80m - an average player with a world class agent.

That's exactly who villa need to get back to the Prem.Maybe do a deal with them for Di Matteo who is as out of place in the Championship as a Bentley in West Bromwich!
