Dream League - Cup Week 1

GROUP A

Wellington Phoenix 2-0 Dyskobolia Grodzisk Wielkopolski

Goals:
Wellington – Milik (Fekir), Fekir (D. Costa)
MOTM: D. Costa

Wellington put in a dominant display against Dyskobolia Grodzisk Wielkopolski and were only denied a third goal by some superb saves from Howard in the away goal.

You’ve made some strides Di, so don’t get disheartened – you were granted away from home, but do bulk out those tactics (you already know this as you mentioned they were very short) and use subs (by not doing so you automatically hand out 2 slots to your competitors) and by doing so your results will be much more positive.

Tbag, you’re continuing your form from the latter stages of the league season and are certain to be a contender in the cup and the next league season.

GROUP B

SC Cambuur-Leeuwarden 1-1 Edinburgh City
Goals:
Cambuur: Rolán (Arias)
Edinburgh: Lacazette (Robben)
MOTM: Walace

Cambuur cannot break their voodoo of drawing games. A result that very much keeps both teams in the hunt, but a very valuable away point for the Scots.

Cambuur go under the radar in this league – but LC has such an eye for South American talent that he’s always going to be an underated contender.

Fud has proved to be an excellent addition to the league and after a steady first season under his helme I’m predicting an even better second season.

Juventus 2-1 Blyth Spartans

Goals:
Juventus: Dybala (Draxler), Guerreiro (Sanches)
Blyth: Ibrahimovic (Insigne)
MOTM: Guerreiro

Despite the lost slot for Blyth, the away team gave Juventus a real game. Juventus will be more than happy to pick up the 3 points, and Blyth are still more than capable of claiming one of those semi final places.

Juventus were a real force to be reckoned with during the league season, and had periods where they had so much momentum that they appeared to be unstoppable at times.

Blyth started the season slowly before finding form and then slipping away towards the end. However, there is no doubt that the quality is there so must go into next season as one of the contenders – but to do this they must get those tactics in on time.

Tatung v Fishyflaps

For once Welshy had the more experienced line up, more boys on the home side for him to eye up for the future..The home side started brightly but Unal found it very difficult to get any change from Sule and Tah or Sultah as I will call them. Sultah were dominate v the striker, Woodburn did his bit but again Sultah stood tall and strong. Fishyflaps started to show dominance however and scored before halftime through Werner after good play down the left from Henrichs and Brandt. They were quite dominate in the second half but not really penetrating the young Tatung rearguard..A rash tackle in defence allowed Geis to step up and power home a freekick to see the away side leave with three points in the bag.

Tatung 0 - 2 Fishyflaps

Werner(Brandt 42), Geis (FK, 71)
MOTM - Geis
