Now i am talking the TITLE.

Before anyone guffaws at the prospect of Liverpool actually competing for the title, just consider the points below.

Several factors have happened within a short period of each other to make LFC a genuine title competing team. Everyone knows to challenge for the title you must have goals in your team, well thats an absolute check. Not only have our attackers been scoring but also our mf (hendo, Lallana) and we know Can has a goal in him too.

You need a mf that can compete and be physical as well as subtle, well with the likes of Can and Wij coupled with lallana and Hendersons energy (and by the way skill..check THAT goal out) it appears we are covered.

The key unquestionably to a title tilt is the defence, and this area has (imo) stopped LFC cracking the title conudrum, if you look back (this is from memory not research btw) you will see we have not had a decent LB since Riise, not a decent CB pairing since Hyypia and Carra/Henchoz, not had a decent GK since Reina (and he was poor the last 2 seasons); RB well i honestly cant remember when we had a decent one until we signed Clyne.

All in all, defence was poor, certainly too poor to win a title; and so it proved even when we arguably had Europes most potent attack, score over 100 goals but concede 50 ish...it wasnt the Palace and CFC games that cost us the title, it was the preceding 35~ games when we conceded so many goals!

Klopp has seen this pretty damn quick, if the rumours are true then tomorrow may well see LFC actually have a defence that is TITLE worthy, Karius, Clyne, Lovren, Matip, Milner. Its a new defence really, with no player being in defence longer than 2 seasons (i think). Yes Milner is a utility LB but he is if anything reliable, in fact i think the last five games has seen LFC concede 3 goals; extrapolate (as an indication) over a season and you get about 22/23 goals conceded...just an indication of where it may lead.

IF, and it is an IF because Karius hasn't played in the league yet, (I am going on his bundeslige form), if he is the GK answer then i would expect the defensive unit to improve immeasurably over the coming weeks.

Anfield raised capacity, Klopp as manager and the new signings (Matip, Mane ect) adding to the team, couple this with Utd and CFC having new managers and Spurs, Leicester having Europe; all of this coupled together gives me confidence that LFC may well have a title tilt ini them this season.

I like Clyne, but Walker, Bellerin (off the top of my head) are much better. Mane is interesting, and perhaps I overlooked him.

But seriously, the overwhelming majority of Liverpool's squad is very ordinary.

The comment that the whole team is playing well is justified though.

I assume that with you being a Stockport supporter you get to every Liverpool match?

Surely you have seen them play the mighty Stockport and this is how you come to this conclusion.

After all, a team that can dominate last seasons top 3 and defeat 2, draw with the 3rd and also give Chelsea a mauling must be ordinary.

I'd be more inclined to think you are a returning banned poster (probably a g00nie or manc)
