I am not going to lie, I was sick of the sight of the boy and wanted him out of the club but credit where its due, he has worked hard in the off season, and really improved his game to get the attention of the manager and credit to him.
What it does is it means Perez doesnt walk into the team, Giroud sits it out and Alexis continues almost as a twin striker to Theo.
Iwobi has also thrown up another curve ball because he keeps playing so well. All this with Ramsey not even in the squad, Elneny didnt make the match day squad.
But for me the defence won the game for us. Kos, Mustafi and Bellerin were soo good. As poor as Chelsea played, our defence never gave them the chance.
Mustafi woof
Theo James Walcott, Im sorry

As well as Iwobi played, I thought Mustafi was MOM!
Top rate defending.

Mustafi and Sanchez was my pick for man of the match. Kos made more blocks and clearances but Mustafi made them when Chelsea were threatening to break and each time he caught them clean.
Ridiculous recovery speed. They ran into each pother at times but when they get it right they will be a class CB pairing.
Thought Bellerin had his best game in a while.
I actually wouldnt mind Gibbs to be given a go at left back.I just think the way we are playing high up the pitch we need an athletic LB.

Walcott has had a good season so far. Hopefully, he can stay fit and build on his form. That poor cross for Alexis when he had acres of space to shoot did wind me up though.

interesting what you say about Gibbs, I actually agree with you but Monreal did have a good game today but as you say wouldn't mind giving Gibbs a run, I think he has more to offer, just my opinion.

Thank God Giroud is on the bench.
Just remembered how bad he is when he came on.

I saw 7 touches. 4 gave the ball away including one very easy pass he missed. The other 3 were missed shots.
Walcott has always needed a few games when coming back from injury or a break to get match fit. He can be frustrating when he is not getting the game time he needs, but hopefully he can have a season without any significant injuries and can show what he can do. If he does have any prolonged lay offs he will struggle to find form again for a few games and will no doubt get more abuse.

Our front 3 options are the best they've been in a long time. Alexis is the only one that is a guarenteed starter but Walcott, Iwobi, Giroud, Perez, Ox and eventually Welbs can all compete for the other 2 spots when on form

Giroud on the bench sadly won't be for long.

Gibbs is rapid. No winger will get the better of him

Castor your memory is rather short, he was getting ripped a new one on numerous occasions when he played.I admit he is fast however his positional play leaves a lot to be desired.Prefer Monreal over him any time.
