Steve's Sunday Summary - Week 7

Unable to contemplate the full day that would have necessary and having been rumbled when offering Mrs 1210 a weekend on the Broads it was a mix of laptop and Soccer Saturday that kept me briefed whilst catching up on chores.
I'm always wary when "luck" gets mentioned, but to lose Ben Turner before the team was announced, Chris O'Grady in the warm up and John Brayford before half time suggests a few broken mirrors somewhere. Throw in what sounds like a substantial deflection for Norwich's second and what is described in this morning's press as a "harsh" second yellow for Tom Flanagan and we end up with a scoreline that tells less than the whole story.
Back to the Pirelli with two games in four days and then none until November? Not sure how the fixture boffins came up with that.
Maybe the same logic as the F A duffers who want to ease fixture congestion by making us play four less home games each year. And then to regionalise what would become divisions two and three. Where would that leave the National League (including Dover v Gateshead). Regionise that and it becomes Nat League one and two and you simply do away with a feeder league. They say that the fans will have a say. Interesting to see when and how, and whether anyone will listen.
And a winter break? Surely just an opportunity for all the clubs under foreign ownership to play exhibition matches on the other side of the world where the fans that have travelled the length and breadth for years stand no chance of going.
Three more brewers on the box this week. Anthony O'Connor at the back for Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup on Thursday, Jake Buxton for Wigan at Preston on Friday and another sighting of Shaun Harrad in the red of Wrexham on Saturday lunch time. I must get out more!
