Goalies

What all your thinking on the killie goal yesterday and whether de vries should/could have saved it. Seemed quite split at the game.

Who plays on Wednesday night? I can see that de vries is slightly better with the ball and can waste a lot of time.

For me, city will have a lot of the ball and a lot of shots. Gordon is more
Iikely to make saves, especially as De Vries has a ball allergy, so I'd go for Gordon

Never saw it but I'm sure our keeper was to blame.

Brendan said Dorus has a muscle pull in his chest, think that's benjy-speak for ya big galoot

Gordon has his issues but imo is a much better goalie than de Vries

It's Gordon for me

It was a great strike, but speculative, a long, long way out. Keeper was way off his line, just like last week against Inverness and didn`t get back.

Great strike, but goalie could have done better.

Gordon has his weaknesses, but at least you get the feeling he might stop some shots. I don`t have the same confidence in de Vries.

I have yet to see why De Vries was poty last season, I think Brendan will already be scouting for a keeper in the Jan window

So eh Alexanra Bastedo then?

I think it looks worse than what it really is. The guy was probably close to 40 yards out. What do people want, the keeper to be on his line when the play is that far out? No keeper ever would be.

It was a great strike and one that not many would save imo.

I still prefer Gordon to DDV, though. I've not seen a reason why he should be ahead of Gordon, even some of his passing is frightening.

CB, I`d normally agree with that, but it happened last week as well. It`s as if the opponents have noted he is often well off his line and been told to have a go.

DDV almost gifted a goal to Killie yesterday by dithering before making a pass. It's a big NO from me

Pallaver, you might be right.

I personally don't think he was that far off his line, though. He was only a few yards off it if I remember it correctly. Can't really be faulted for bad positioning. Like I said, still prefer Gordon over him.
