I was reading that Danny ings scored a hat trick in the under 23's on social media, which was good for him!
I then went to then comment section to see many Liverpool fans saying that it should be Sturridge going in the reserves and that he isn't good enough for a clubs like ours??
I really couldn't believe what I was seeing tbh?? Yes he hasn't been great so far this season, however he hasn't been woeful imo?? But I don't get the hate with someone win his ability and goal stats?
Also barring a week here and a wake there, he's hardly been injured since last winter...
What's your thoughts??
Sturridge??

People have really short memories if they are saying Ings should be in the pecking order ahead of Sturridge.

I will never understand the Sturridge situation with our fans. He gets such a harsh rap. People who've never met him slagging off his personality, mentality etc. Despite the fact that he's only ever been professional as a Liverpool player.
Contrast this with sakho who has had quite public hissy fits, doesn't have close to the performance record of Sturridge, and frankly has only a marginally better injury record, but gets a free pass from fans.
Sturridge is still our most talented player, and has matured into much more of a team player this season.

Good to see the same old myths are still being peddled. Sturridge is not being lazy, some of his movement this season has been exceptional, and he's creating loads of space for other players.
As for his body language, I've not seen anything that I haven't seen at other times. He's always had that 'chip on his shoulder' look about him. I'm sure he isn't happy that he's not scoring, I'd be worried if he wasn't bothered. But I do think people are looking for things that aren't there.

We have competition for places now and unfortunately the form of Firmino is keeping him on the bench.
Personally I'd always find a place for Sturridge because his pace and movement worries defenders and creates space. Plus he can do things that others can't. The goal against Seville for example, who else could do that? Coutinho maybe?
As long as Sturridge is getting on the pitch then I'm happy, sooner or later the goals are going to flow again. Particularly if his understanding with Mane develops - looked promising so far.

I don't think he's lazy, but he's not fit either.
All too often he doesn't want to run.
Whether this is because in his head he thinks he will injure something, or whether he actually physically can't, I don't know.
Only against Leicester this season was he running freely.
This is the crux of why he doesn't get picked. He physically can't do what the manager needs his players to do.
Ings hasn't been able to yet either, hence his game time in the stiffs, but if Ings proves that he can....

well done danny ings i say.
stuff about sturridge is basically all well and good but I'd prefer to be positive about the three guys who have played ahead of him and say well done them and klopp for these performances.

Whether he's not fit, being lazy or doesn't trust his body etc
Whatever his issues are it's quite clear Klopp is not 100% keen on him
Like I've said before I'm a fan but he just doesn't fit Klopps style. He would have started more often if he did
Im hoping his goals will force Klopp to play him because when Mane goes to ACON we will need him morr than ever. With Lallanas injury he should be making the team but if Origi finds some form i expect him to be ahead of Sturridge in certain games

I disagree. Sturridge is neither lazy nor wanting when it matters. He is a highly talented striker, yes, appears to be temperamental at times, sometimes greedy, wanting to score when a pass to another forward would be better, all of these.
He s a top class striker, but unlike before, he is playing for a manager who calls the shots; his way or the highway, no matter how positive an player's reputation is. In other words, Jurgen picks who he reckons the most, and devil take the hindmost. And he lets it publicly be known that he couldn't care less about player's feelings.
In other words, he gets on with the job, his job.
Long may it continue.

tbf Ings does fit Klopps team more than Sturridge, but sturridge is a better more technical player.
Studge i thought had got over his body mental blocks, but Vs Swansea he was back to less than 100% sprinting. It may be well worth giving Ings a crack.
