65 goals in 3 seasons and some folk rubbish him.

Not saying he's a bad player at all, but the same thing happened to him at Norwich. That's why we got home on a free. Did he want a move from Norwich? Looks the same happened at Derby.

I think he was messed up by Pearson and with a bit of love he would do well again. I would rather have him in the team than Bent or Blackman.

Can't blame Pearson for Martin's poor form at the end of last season: he didn't score in the last eight fixtures.

I'd have kept him as he provided options for our shape that the others don't, but I don't suppose they were queuing up for Bent or Blackman. We have too many average players in the squad and so have had to trade, but you can only sell that which people want to buy.

We know perfectly well why he didn't score as many last season, we played more defensively and he didn't get the service. He was still the club's highest scorer though. He also contributes to our defence when the opposition gets corners and free kicks, not to mention his assists.

Is it really rubbish to say he is a better bet than Bent or Blackman? I don't think so.

Chris, you keep saying we can only sell players if someone wants to buy them. You are right, but we bought them.
