Review of the weekends rugby from my own point of view lest we forget in the growing WC hype that there is a domestic game.
Firstly the Robocop
I would just like to say that I predicted every single result in the Celtic league last weekend (this can be verified on sportguru.co.uk the prediction game) - is the league that predictable - no not really - just luck on my part
Leinster were always going to struggle at the Os with all their players away - although - i was surprised by the margin - The ospreys played out of their skins in the first half
Ulster v Glasgow at home was a given - both had players missing but Ulsters strength in depth and home advantage would aleways be worth a few scores - and was
Cardiff at edingburgh again would be a test in strength in depth - although I thought it would be close and it wasnt - easy win for the Blues - edingburgh fell apart in the last half an hour
Treviso v connacht was always a tough one to call - especially with trevisos home record - but I felt that connacht would edge it - they have fewer players missing and I felt that would affect Treviso - good win for connacht though
Same story I know but Home advantage and strength in depth would see Munster home by 8 points - a tough place to go
My only surprise in the Scarlets game was that the margin wasnt more - Scarlets huffed and puffed for the first hour
All in all good weekend of rugby
As For the Jeff - What was going on????? I predicted 50% results which is surely bad in anyones book - and I should know more about it
Irish v Quins - Irish were missing their big players but I felt that if it was truly at home they would of edged it - however playing at HQ was a big leveller and was probably more like a home game for Quins - Quins were good for a 5 point win
Tigers v Exeter .........................W.................T...................F........?????????
Who would of picked that - hats off to Exeter - proving that lastseason was no fluke and they are here to stay - Leicester - even missing players will be giving themselves a long hard talking to
Warriors v Sale - well - no surprise to me - worcester are tough at home and a lot of teams - especially the bottom 4 or 5 teams in the Jeff will struggle there - Sale are one of those teams - tight game but a win for worcs none the less
Saffacens v wasps - another shock for me - but Wasps were well worth their win - The Boks were just boring and as with the Irish game - HQ was a big leveller
No surprise with Bath beating the Falcons away - Falcons going down I think
Gloucester, I felt would win this, although Im biased - I just felt that the Saints were missing their stars and Glaws would be to much - but we are missing a kicker and may struggle all season in this area. Saints worth their win
SO in summary
is the robocop more predictable than the jeff - no very similar - 4-5 teams could win 1 or 2 probably will - some of the games are 1 sided - if anything i think that the bottom half of the Jeff has better sides just about
its always going to be a strange time when the world cup stars are missing and this was a major factor in some of the results I believe - however tha standard of rugby was more than upheld
Predictable and not so???

If the Robocop was so predictable, everyone on our SportGuru would have a yellow cap. But as I always say... they are so week 1 !!
As for the AP, well, I couldn't agree more with what you've written.! Shockers this week! It'll make me re-think my picks during this WC period.

Not so WWW - the Robocop will produce subconcious nationalistic bias and only a neutral can look with a balanced view
This week is tough on both leagues though isnt it - especially the Jeff - coin in the air time for some I think

So its to be know as the robocop then... nnnkk i can live with that, better then some of the other names like the ones that start with Sh and end with iT
"coin in the air time for some I think."
totally agree. not really much to look forward in the leagues at the moment, but it has a positive side in my opinion. That is, that after the WC we will see the teams who have been badly hurt by missing players in my case Leinster, coming with all guns blazing and going for bonus point wins in every game to try and catch up. i reckon come christmas time there will have been a few amazing games where attacking rugby was on show and try's scored for fun. Mark my words. This will be a slow start to an amazing season! Leinster to win the Heineken cup... :-P
