hello 606

Proper Football returns this weekend after the international dross

Now that we can get back to normal football again what is everyones predictions for the season. I know it has been done to death but I am bored, here are mine.

League. Manchester United - I think it will be neck and neck with Manchester City maybe even being decided on the last day could get exciting.

Champions League. Barca - Could be the first team to win it back to back I can't see any team touching them for a couple of years yet.

F.A Cup - Liverpool hate to admit it but they are climbing back up this could be the trophy that Kenny will be looking for first to give the team confidence and a massive push I can see them getting fourth spot this year as well.

Carling Cup - Maybe Arsenal with everything going on at the emirates and all the doom and gloom maybe they will surprise a few people and win a trophy.

Everton was the last game wasnt it? We lost I remember. Im sure if we'd have won at OT. We would have had more motivation for the last game of the season so if we'd have won at Everton then it would have come down to GD .

You saying the players were not up for a game when their fans had paid and travelled from London?

Chelsea were totally up for the Everton game. Everton were in form and at home. Pretty sure Chelsea actually tried to win the game

Also at the bridge Chelsea again cheated, dived for freekick then fouled in box.

League - United or City
Chelsea if Torres can score 20+

CL - Madrid or Milan
Milan has a very good team maybe the surprise winners?

F.A Cup - United or Chelsea
United haven't won it for a long time, youngsters will be very motivated.

CC - City
Even if City play their second string they can win it easily.

@trex,

I was making a joke based on the recent Arsenal team being so young that to use their youth team would mean fielding 13/14 year olds.

Now that Ive had to explain it the joke is gone

I knew you were joking

There is some truth in your comment though Arsenal has gone from a team that frightened the league to a team that probably is still afraid of wardrobe monsters.

Sure chelsea are a top class side and I facny they will finish third, but Chlease need to rebuild just like United do every 3-5 years now it's chelsea's turn. JT needs more back up next him, Lamps is 33, Cole is about 32 and Drogba is also about that age so the key men in the team need to be refreshed and I don';t see the new buys doing that.

But look at United, Young has stepped in to the shoes of giggs, Jones has been unbelievable and Smalling gets better and better. The add Cleverly & Welbeck and consider that we missed Fletcher for a big part of last year and you can see the strength, not the best players but good enough

Do you not think that's why we bought Lukaku,Mata,Luiz,Piazon,Romelu?

Chelsea will always be a threat, though this season with the way City have bought and their start to the season. if their team does not fall apart with players egos they would be deadly.

It is to early to tell now and by January we will have a clearer picture but the Manchester rivalry will play a massive part with both clubs not wanting to lose out to their next door neighbours that is why I think it is between the two.
