Good idea?
Of course the idea on paper is to keep youngsters grounded but at 40k a year surely they've already gone way past that point and means we are potentially hindering ourselves in signing new top talent in the future.
Does mean it's a solid statement that your focus at the club is to develop.
Worth noting that according to the article, Tottenham and Southampton have also implemented something similar, perhaps a FA rule to be introduced?
The next burning question is who on earth is 17 or under and on £40k+?

Yeah Onomah was the only one knocking on the door of the first team at 18. Wouldn't call that many from the academy.

By definition they are. If they are trusted over senior players, and not just becuase of injuries, they are deemed one of the best 18 players available

Edwards will almost certainly be among the first team squad when he turns 18.
If they are good enough they will have a pathway to the first team, regardless of age. Pochettino is not shy of doing so

Oh yeah Bentaleb also. I still think you're over egging it. I don't think Spurs are particularly unique with their academy like you're making out, in this respect.

No, Carter Vickers is one of our 4 centre backs, and was on the bench after Wimmer was fit again.
Who said we are unique? You have too much of a stiffy for Spurs, it is clouding your judgment
