Its been a while since I penned an article and so much has happened for me to cover that if I were to cover everything I would need Murnetti level authorisation from Admin to write it
So I'll try and succinct with my thoughts (well within the character limit anyway)
Celtic and Brendan Rogers- I'll admit that the infamous game against Lincoln Red Imps gave me a bit of the fear but given that this was our first outing under our new manager it was easy to put it into context. Isolated it was one of our worst ever results but regardless we made it to the CL.
Brendans influence has been so much to the benefit of our club that you watch this team and wonder if it really is composed from most of the same side as last year.
Gone are the slow passes across the back line with players walking around with the ball, giving teams time to set their defence.
He has not just brought in quality players for select key positions in the side but he has elevated the level of players already at the club. Forrest is a player brimming with confidence, actually looks a threat in front of goal (his party trick with the outside of the foot seems to have caught on and actually improved his accuracy).
Big Moussa is already a cult hero for his hat trick against Rangers but his goals threat has proved a tonic to a squad that was last year looking one dimensional without the goals of Griffiths.A big unit with a turn of pace, he's the sort of player we have been looking for to give that extra physicality and mix things up in the attacking third. Scott Sinclair has added pace and the ability to beat a man, not to mention making a huge contribution to the teams counter attacking potential. Him and Forrest have terrorised teams so far this year with their pace allied to the creativity, flair and thunderbolts from the boot of Tam Rogic it has made all the difference.
Kolo has looked like the ball playing centre half we need to add composure at the start of our moves and with Jozo and Eric competing for a starting jersey with Lustig it's looking bright.
That Man City performance would bring tears to a glass eye. People often romanticise about playing "the Celtic Way" but to me it boils down to seeing a Celtic side have a right go at teams. In this regard I feel that that night eclipses Barca as fan due to the fact that it wasn't a complete backs to the wall job. It was balls to the wall from the first whistle and whilst we tired and became more pragmatic in the second half it was a night to be immensely proud of the attacking play on show and the jump in quality of the general performance levels of the team.
Did I ever think I would see us do the football equivalent of landing right hooks on Mike Tysons chin whilst I was watching Halliday run rings around our midfield in April? Such an industrious performance decorated with moments of real quality, a real treat.
The Rangers game was special as I felt we owed them after the debacle in April. The perfect hat trick from Dembele. I was worried at 2-1 we would buckle and end up dropping points like so many times in the past few years but in spite of a scare from the boot of McKay we were good value for the win. Senderos handball defied belief, utterly stupid thing to do but sealed the game. The rest was just the icing on the cake.
Rangers have had a rocky start to life in the SPL but I do think they will finish second. They need to sort out their defence as it is leaking goals (the game at Parkhead illustrated this with precarious passes at every turn. Starting Barton and Krancjar was mystifying to me as Halliday had been a catalyst for so much of their success in that Semi-Final. Barton embarrassed himself and let Rangers down on the day, talked the talk but didn't walk the walk. Windass was the only player in that Rangers side that would have earned pass marks as he was the only guy trying to take on his man or break at any sort of pace. He actually got in behind our midfield a few times as well.
Rangers have a new squad with wholesale changes, it was always going to be a turbulent start to the season. I believe they will get better but it is an opportunity for Warburton to taste the pressure of being manager of a club liker Rangers. The expectation level has risen- I do think he will still be Rangers manager at the end of the season but he will need to learn that "dominating the football" in a draw at home to SPL strugglers won't really cut it.
As it is I think he will adapt and continue to put in place his wider football strategy for the betterment of Rangers. It has been badly needed at a time where spi vs have plundered it and money is tied up elsewhere.

Good to see you bud
You would seriously abuse Murnetti level articles

You got gubbed 7-0, the worse Euro performance by a Scottish side ever!
You are flying in the league and so you should be, great result against Man City, but at the end of the day it was a draw at home.
Rangers, well we truly are amongst the diddies this year!
And if Brendan aint going to play Griffiths, Can we get him on loan?

Can't disagree with any of that op, as ever your opinion is balanced and considered. What's your thoughts on the keeper situation?
