How much spent on your cars?

Morning all
On the back Zlatans post about car suggestions, i totted up how much money ive spent on cars since ive been driving the past 14 years.
I passed my test when I was 25, a first timer and all that.

But heres what ive spent (wasted) on cars

Renualt Clio 1.2L £500
Peugeot 206 1.4L £2200
Audi TT 2.0L £10500
BMW 320 2.0L £3000
Audi A6 2.7TDI £11000
Peugeot 207 1.4L £7500 (for my wife)
Vauxhall Insignia 2.0TDI £11000
Vauxhall Astra 1.6L £12500
Vauxhall Insignia Tourer 2.0TDI £16000
Vauxhall Corsa 1.4L £10800 (for the wife for her 30th)

Comes to just over £85000
Ridiculous. Wish id kept atleast 2 thirds of that money and spent it elsewhere

So what you spent on cars?

i spent £15K on my last car..a VW golf nearly new only 4k miles on the clock

I wont be buying another car for about 10 years now, until this one has clocked up about 250K miles

cars are a waste of money..and a big drain on finances

Spent a lot on cars over the years but always with a view to break even if not make a bit. Used to buy and sell regularly. Then kids came along and started buying 7 seated typed.

Best was a touran which was brand new and also had a transporter which wasn't new but loved it

Just bought a EUR100 mountain bike.

Does that count?

The best cars are the ones that do high mpg and have low tax costs and insurance costs.

I think I might buy a Corsa 1.2L SXI or 1.4L SXI with 99BHP. Depends on insurance cost. I prefer the old shape 2014/ earlier one as I drove it on a few lessons but it was I believe a 1.2 one. The car was so great to drive.

all new drivers need to get a Ford Ka. cheapest insurance out there for a 1.3. cheaper than a 1.0 corsa

bit basic but does what it says on the tin. bought both my kids 1 as soon as they passed their tests. kept insurance under £2k a year for a 17 year old

plenty of time to learn (as someone said you learn to drive after passing your test) and hopefully reduce the premiums.

I wonder if being 25 years old means I get cheap insurance

If i remember correctly if you are insuring for the first time its negligible in terms of savings but you get a bigger reduction after year 1.

something like that anyway

Had a few cars over the time but the one that stood out for me was my Peugeot 205 gti 1.9. Fook, I loved that little motor.
